+- INTRO / EXTERIOR

Presented here is the opportunity to acquire a Porsche 996 Carrera 4S in a sought after specification; manual, coupe, non-sun roof and black-on-black colour combination, which, notably, has recently undergone a full engine rebuild by engine rebuild specialists “Hartech. This included the increased capacity to 3.9 litre with 6x new liners and an upgraded IMS bearing. The Porsche’s coachwork is in fabulous condition, straight along every panel and free from any body repairs. The Basalt Black (colour code LC9Z) paintwork is equally fabulous with no blemishes and a beautiful glossy finish throughout. The car has been given a full body soft head machine polish and hand wax while in with us to emphasise and protect the gorgeous paintwork. We have removed the front bumper and had it resprayed, meaning that there are no stone chips present. The Carrera 4S is fitted with the Turbo chin spoiler, which provides a slightly more aggressive appearance to the nose. The non-sun roof spec is a feature we like on these cars as it presents a sleek and clean looking roof-line. Underneath the car lay its original and genuine Porsche C4S wide body alloy wheels, which are found in fine condition, with no curb marks of grazing. The headlights are clear, free from oxidisation and the chrome tail pipe tips are clean.

+- INTERIOR / SPEC

The black leather interior is in excellent condition with a desirable combination of specification. The front seats have worn very well, with very little wear, even to the driver’s side bolstering. Other heavily used areas, such as the steering wheel, gear stick and hand brake are also in lovely condition. All of the functions inside the car work as they should, including the air conditioning system, which has recently benefitted from a new compressor and system re-gas. Noteworthy optional extras that the C4S possesses include the “aluminium look” lower centre console, front seat heating, 8-way electric front seats with memory positioning, Bose sound system with built-in sub-woofer, stainless entry kick plates, Guards Red seat belts. The centre console “delete” has been completed, a la the GT3 model. There are two key fobs present.

+- MECHANICS / DRIVE

In the last 7 years, the Carrera 4S has been the beneficiary to over £30,000-worth of maintenance works, including the aforementioned “Hartech” engine rebuild, increasing its displacement from 3.6 litres to 3.9 litres, as well as safeguarding the engine’s reliability by means of upgraded IMS bearing and cylinder lines. The enlarged boxer engine is considerably more powerful, with phenomenal torque. The six speed manual gearbox changes through its gears effortlessly and the clutch is light with a positive engagement having also been renewed recently. The suspension and steering feel utterly tight, with various components refreshed in recent times (detailed below). The large brakes found on the 4S stop the car confidently, with the front discs and pads having lots of life remaining. The Porsche rests on Michelin Pilot Sport tyres with 6mm of tread at all four corners.

+- SERVICE HISTORY / PREP WORK

The most comprehensive of servicing records accompanies the Porsche, with a folder filled to the brim with paperwork, evidencing every penny that’s been spent on the car since new, including the £30,000 spent in the last 7 years.
