Intro / exterior
Here we have a low mileage, low owner example of the Porsche 996 C4S in the combination of spec that everybody wants; coupe, non-sun roof, manual, and a beautiful colour combination. While with us, we have upgraded the IMS bearing to nullify this potential problem. This example is somewhat a famous 911, having featured on numerous, large YouTube channels and in several magazine, which are all with the car's folder of history. The coachwork of this Porsche is in superb order with no dings, dents or notable marks. The panels all align immaculately and the sides of the car are pin-straight. The Seal Grey paintwork (colour code L6B4) is equally nice, with a deep glossy shine, minimal marks or stone chips and protection provided by the full day's FGP detailing that the car has benefitted from. Beneath the Porsche lay it's original Turbo alloy wheels, which have just been refurbished so are in perfect condition and have Michelin Pilot Sport tyres fitted with very good tread life.
The black leather interior sits very nicely alongside the Seal Grey exterior and offers for a classy looking Porsche 911. The condition of the cockpit is a very good representation of the low mileage the 4S has covered. The seats show very little wear, the carpets and headlining are in as-new condition, the dashboard and door-cards look very well; as do the normal wear points such as the steering wheel and gear stick. There is desirable optional equipment with this example such as suede alcantara headlining, "Tequipment" aluminium embodied handbrake and gearstick, 8 way electric seats, Porsche crested headrests, "aluminium look" package with silver dial surrounds etc, and xenon Litronic headlights. There are two keys with the car, one of which is a functioning remote key fob. The optional extra codes read as follows: C16, XCA, XCB, XCD, X97, X98, 425, 567, 635, 692, 09991.
Mechanically speaking the Carrera 4S feels and performs like a car far younger than it's age, thanks to the meticulous maintenance it's been treated to, evidenced by the comprehensive file of history that's with the car. The 3.6 litre flat 6 engine mounted at the rear of the car performs perfectly with a beautifully smooth idle, blinding performance and a wonderful exhaust note. As noted above, we have upgraded the IMS bearing for our favoured "EPS" unit during our sales preparation process, so there is no concerns to be had in regards to this prone issue with this car. The manual gearbox changes through it's six speeds smoothly and the clutch is light with a positive engagement having also been renewed by us during our sale preparation process. The steering and suspension feel absolutely tight, providing great confidence to the driver when driving the car in a spirited fashion. Lastly the large brakes found on the C4S model are in perfect order having had the front discs and pads renewed within the last 5,000 miles.
Service history / sales prep
The 911 is accompanied by a beautifully put together folder, filled to the brim with paperwork relating to the car, such as; invoices for works completed since the car was new, MOT certificates, HPI reports, and previous sales invoices including the original bill of sale from the Porsche main dealer in 2003, along with the spec sheet, detailing the cost of the chosen optional extras. There is also several magazines with the car, such as "Total 911", where it has a six page spread write up on it. There is of course also the original leather owner's wallet containing the Porsche manuals and the fully stamped maintenance booklet.

As detailed above, during our sales preparation process, we have carried out a service on the car, which was a "major" interval with spark plugs and auxiliary belt. We have also upgraded the IMS bearing for our preferred "EPS" cylindrical unit, renewed the clutch, the rear main oil seal, brake fluid, bonnet struts, engine lid strut, O/S coolant radiator seal, and the coil pack heat shields. In the last 5,000 miles the Porsche has also had the benefit of works such as the renewal of the water pump, air conditioning compressor, alloy wheel refurbishment, Bosch battery, starter motor, front brake discs and pads, coolant expansion tank, coolant level sender.
