Presented here is a Carrera 4S specified in the sought after manual, coupe, non-sun roof guise combination. The aesthetics of this car are exceptional, with beautiful clean, straight bodywork with paintwork to match. Arctic Silver (colour code L92U) is a colour that suits the wide bodied 996 superbly and the non-sun roof gives a beautifully sleek looking roof line. This particular C4S has some stand out features that make it particularly pleasing on the eye, such as the large 4S brake callipers finished in red and the subtle additions of Turbo tail pipe tips and Turbo style rear spoiler. The original wheels are fitted and are in good presentable order. The rear tyres are Bridgestone Potenzas with good tread and the front tyres are nearly-new Falken sports.
Inside the cabin is a grey leather interior, which sits alongside the silver exterior very well. The condition of the leather is good throughout with only minimal wear to the most common wear points such as the handbrake and drivers side bolster. Everything else, such as the carpets, dashboard and door-cards have worn their years brilliantly. All of the electrical functions are without fault, including the two remote key fobs, and the air conditioning system that has benefitted from new condensers and a re-gas on 06/09/2018. There is some nice optional spec equipped, such as xenon litronic headlights, 8 way electric seats with memory function, red seat belts, suede alcantara headlining and Porsche switchable exhaust.
Mechanically speaking the Porsche is a credit to its previous owners, who have cared for it meticulously and only had it maintained by Porsche main dealers or Porsche specialists such as Hartech who mechanically warranted the car between the years of 2012-2016. The engine starts, idles and performs as Porsche intended and there is no smoke, leaks or untoward sounds emitted. As noted in the title, we have just upgraded the IMS bearing to the EPS cylindrical bearing, giving peace of mind to the car's next owner. The exhaust system has been renewed in the last few years at considerable expense, including stainless steel headers and stainless steel back boxes with switchable valves allowing for quiet and sports modes to be selected on the dash. The gearbox provides positive gear changes and the clutch is beautifully light, having been renewed by us while the IMS bearing works were being completed. The brakes on the car are in good condition with recently renewed pads which stop the car sharply. The suspension is tight, without any unwanted noises over bumps and provides great confidence to the driver with the handling ability of the car.
There is an impeccable service history, with all 20 service intervals stamped in the maintenance booklet carried out by Porsche main dealers or Porsche specialists. There is also a folder full of paperwork such as invoices for works, sales invoices and MOT certificates. There is of course also the original owners leather wallet with all of the original owners manuals present.
The service intervals read as follows: 17/04/2004 - 591 miles, 02/12/2004 - 4,233 miles, 12/07/2006 - 19,287 miles, 13/07/2007 - 29,507 miles, 03/06/2008 - 32,574 miles, 04/07/2009 - 33,939 miles, 07/07/2010 - 37,919 miles, 09/06/2011 - 40,105 miles, 31/07/2012 - 49,533 miles, 05/12/2012 - 56,498 miles, 05/06/2013 - 63,749 miles, 21/08/2013 - 68,820 miles, 21/11/2013 - 74,715 miles, 11/06/2014 - 82,224 miles, 29/10/2014 - 87,552 miles, 27/05/2015 - 94,879 miles, 29/05/2016 - 104,136 miles, 14/09/2017 - 105,674 miles, 05/09/2018 - 107,001 miles, 29/10/2019 - 108,856 miles.
As noted above, the car has just undergone a minor service while in with us, as well as having the IMS bearing upgraded, clutch renewed and the rear main oil seal renewed. Some other recent works that have been actioned other than routine servicing include; stainless steel exhaust headers, stainless steel “switchable” exhaust back boxes, air conditioning condensers, air conditioning re-gas, suspension components such as lower control arms and brake pads.
