Intro / exterior

Presented in the cabriolet, wide-bodied guise and finished in the gorgeous Midnight Blue (colour code L39C), this 911 looks fantastic and is a real head turner. The bodywork is in outstanding condition, straight along every panel and without any paintwork blemishes or scrapes. We have carried out a soft head machine polish and hand wax on the car and the paint finish glimmers like new. Being incredibly critical, it is possible to find a few minor stones chips to the nose, but this is all in the way of cosmetic imperfections. The soft top hood is found in lovely order with no damage and the blue coloured fabric looks fantastic alongside the blue coachwork and interior. The Porsche also comes with its original removable hard-top roof, which again, is in wonderful condition and looks the part on the car. The original wide body alloy wheels are in good condition and have N rated Michelin Pilot Sport tyres fitted with new levels of tread on the front and circa 4.5mm to the rear.

The cockpit is filled by a Metropol Blue leather interior, complimenting the exterior body and hood colour nicely. The condition of the interior is representative of the low mileage the car has travelled, with everything free from notable wear and simply in lovely clean condition. The usual wear points such as the drivers side bolster, steering wheels and gearstick present very well and all the electrical functions inside the car work as Porsche intended, including the air conditioning, which we have just treated to two new condensers and a re-gas. There are desirable options spec'd on this C4S, which includes sports hard back seats with shoulder supports, Litronic xenon head lights, and Bose sound package system. There are three keys with the car, including two remote key fobs. The optional extra codes for the Porsche read as follows: XLF, 288, 375, 376, 539, 540, 601, 680, 692, 09991.

Mechanically speaking this is a very well sorted 911, having been cared for obsessively by its previous owners and benefitting from going through our workshop with any and all niggles ironed out in preparation for sale. The engine runs silky smooth with no untoward noises, smoke or leaks. The IMS bearing has been upgraded while in with us, so there are no worries with this regard. There is a beautiful noise emitted through the Porsche switchable sports back boxes, which have just been professionally welded along the seams so are in perfect condition. The clutch is perfectly light having just been renewed and the manual gearbox travels between its six gears seamlessly. The suspension is tight through the steering, having just benefitted from new front upper top mounts, bearings and bump stops while in with us, and the four wheel drive system, coupled with the Michelin tyres provide great traction and grip. The big Turbo brakes that the 4S model boasts have lots of life remaining in the discs and pads and stop the car sharply and confidently.
