Intro / Exterior
This classy looking Porsche 996 Carrera 4S, equipped in the desirable manual, coupe guise, and with a lengthy list of prone mechanical areas, such as the IMS bearing, just being attended to, this car is a fabulous example of an ever increasingly sought after modern-classic. The coachwork is straight and true across all panels and the Seal Grey paint work (colour code 64B) is untainted, with a mirror like finish and a metallic fleck that becomes ever present in the presence of the sun. As standard, our day's-worth of FGP detailing has been carried out, helping to protect the outstanding condition of the Porsche's exterior. The genuine wide-body 4S wheels have been professionally refurbished while in with us, and as such, present as-new. Bridgestone Potenzas with 3.5mm of tread are fitted to the rear and new Michelin Pilot Sports at the front.
Interior / Spec
A timeless black leather interior lays in wait within the cabin, sitting beautifully alongside the Grey exterior. The general condition inside is outstanding and you would be forgiven for thinking the Porsche had covered half the miles it has. The heavily used areas such as the driver's side bolstering, steering wheel and gear stick are in excellent condition with minimal signs of wear, and everything electrical works as Porsche intended, including the ice-cool air conditioning and the retractable sun-roof. An array of optional extras are specified with this Carrera 4S, including litronic xenon headlights, Turbo twin tail pipe tips, silver-backed "aluminium look" binnacle dials, Porsche crested head-rests, Tequipment hand brake and gear stick with aluminium embodiment, PCM satellite navigation, rear parking sensors, stainless steel door entry kick plates.
Mechanics / Drive
The mechanical condition of the Porsche is exceptional, feeling like a car that is far younger than its years. The flat 6 engine mounted over the rear axle is in fine fettle, with fantastic power, a great sound emitted through its new stainless steel exhausts, and with its infamous IMS bearing recently upgraded. The clutch pedal is beautifully light, having been renewed during the IMS work, along with the rear main oil seal. Going through the gears in the six speed manual transmission is a joy with a seamless change. The 911 handles wonderfully, having had a fairly comprehensive refresh on 16/06/2021 (detailed below). The front brake discs and pads are as new, having also been renewed within the last two months.
