Porsche 911 996 Carrera 4S manual, registered on 26/03/2004, 88,563 miles, 12 months MOT, full service history, 4 owners, HPI clear. 


Intro / exterior

Presented here is the opportunity to acquire one of the last examples of the Porsche 996 Carrera 4S, in a sought after specification; manual, coupe, non-sun roof and black-on-black colour combination. The non-sun roof spec is a feature we like on these cars as it presents a sleek and clean looking roof-line. The Porsche's coachwork is in fabulous condition, straight along every panel and free from any body repairs. The Basalt Black (colour code LC9Z) paintwork is equally fabulous with no blemishes and a beautiful glossy finish throughout. The car has been given a full body soft head machine polish and hand wax while in with us to emphasise and protect the gorgeous paintwork. We have also had the front and rear bumpers removed and professionally resprayed to remedy stone chips and minor marks. Underneath the car lay its original and genuine Porsche C4S wide body alloy wheels, which we have also had professionally refurbished, so are found in perfect condition. The tyres fitted are Michellin Pilot Sports with 7mm of tread to the rear and Kumho tyres with 7.5mm of tread to the front.



Inside the car is a black leather interior which is in great overall conditon. Places such as the carpets, roof-lining, dashboard, and door cards are in exceptional condition, the seats have worn well with only minor signs of wear to the drivers side bolster, and we have fitted new, genuine Porsche floor mats to the car. Everything inside the Porsche operates as it should do, including the electric sun-roof and the air conditioning system which blows ice cool, thanks to the low pressure pipe's O ring seal being renewed while with us, followed by a system re-gas. The car has some nice optional extras, which includes; PCM satellite navigation, suede alcantara headlining, 8-way electric seats and of course the aforementioned sun roof delete. There are three keys with the car, two of which are operational remote fobs. The optional extra codes read as follows: C16, 425, 440, 567, 665, 670, 680.



The 911 is in fantastic mechanical condition and is thoroughly enjoyable to drive. As is stated earlier, in preparation for sale, we have upgraded the IMS bearing to our favoured EPS cylindrical bearing, so there are no concerns in the IMS bearing department. The 3.6 litre flat six engine mounted to the rear operates perfectly, starting as it should, idling smoothly and revving up crisply. There is tremendous power at the car's disposal and a fabulous noise produced by the new sports stainless steel exhaust back boxes that we have fitted in preparation for sale. The six speed manual gearbox changes through its speeds effortlessly and the clutch is light with a positive engagement having been renewed, along with the rear main oil seal, less than 18 months ago. The suspension and steering feels utterly tight, with the top mounts, bump stops and bearings all being renewed within the last 12 months. The large brakes found on the 4S stop the car confidentally, with the rear discs and pads also being renewed with us in preparation for sale. 


Service history / sales prep

A full service history is with the Porsche, including the fully stamped service booklet, the original Porsche owners wallet, containing all of the original owners manuals, and a folder of paperwork such as  invoices for previous works and past MOT certificates. 


The service intervals are as follows: 20/01/2005 - 10,338 miles, 28/11/2005 - 27,152 miles, 18/07/2008 - 34,776 miles, 17/03/2010 - 40,749 miles, 20/06/2012 - 51,312 miles, 30/09/2014 - 68,196 miles, 26/04/2016 - 70,423 miles, 25/07/2018 - 79,106 miles, 08/09/2020 - 88,563 miles. 


As is noted above, we have just carried out a fresh service on the car, as well as a new MOT. In addition, in preparation for sale, we have upgraded the IMS bearing for our favoured EPS cylindrical unit, as well as installing new stainless steel sports back boxes, renewing the front upper suspension bump stops, rear brake discs and pads, air conditioning pipe seal, re-gassing the air conditioning system, renewing the rear number plate lights, replacing the rear centre brake light strip, renewing the rear centre relector strip, the front floor mats, the O/S/R arch liner mud flap, and having both bumpers removed and resprayed. In the few years prior to this, the car has also benefitted from renewals such as; the front upper suspension mounts and bearings, drop link, clutch, rear main oil seal, alternator.
