Intro / exterior
Here for sale we have this beautifully cared for Porsche 996 Carrera 4S, in the timeless combination of Arctic Silver body colour on a black leather interior. The aesthetical condition of the Porsche is outstanding, with lovely clean, straight coachwork and paintwork to match. There are no notable scratches, minimal stone chips to the nose and the headlights are free from yellow oxidisation. While in with us the Porsche has been treated to our customary FGP full day's worth of detailing. A nice feature about this particular example is that it was specified without a sun-roof, presenting a cleaner, uncluttered looking roof panel. The original wide-body Porsche Turbo wheels lay beneath, which are in immaculate condition and have nearly new Continental Conti Sport tyres fitted to all four corners.
As mentioned above, the colour combination on this car is timeless, with the black leather interior sitting beautifully alongside the silver exterior. The condition of the leather inside makes it hard to believe the car is 18 years old; there is no notable wear, even to usual wear-points such as the seat side bolstering and the steering wheel. The electrical functions in the Porsche all operate as they're supposed to, including the ice-cool air conditioning system. The 4S boasts an extensive spec sheet, including the highly sought after sports hard back seats with shoulder supports, Litronic xenon headlights, suede alcantara headlining, Bose sound package with built in sub-woofer, Tequipmen hand-brake and gear stick with aluminium embodiment, silver-backed binnacle dials, and "Turbo style" tail pipe tips. There are two remote key fobs present with the car and its optional extra codes read as follows: X71, X97, X98, 288, 375, 376, 425, 539, 540, 567, 601, 680, 09991.
This 911 has been cared for meticulously and this shows through the way it drives. The flat 6 mounted to the rear performs just as it did the day it left Stuttgart, with a smooth idle, bundles of power and a gorgeous sound emphasised by the stainless steel sports exhaust back boxes that it benefits from. While in with us we have upgraded the infamous IMS bearing for our favoured "EPS" unit, nullifying this cause for concern. The sought after six speed manual gearbox goes through its six speeds seamlessly and the clutch is light, having also been renewed by us in preparation for sale. The handling ability is tremendous, with brilliant grip and traction provided by the four wheel drive system and the nearly-new Continental Conti Sport tyres. The large brakes found on the C4S model provide fantastic stopping power and the discs and pads to this example have covered few miles since they were last renewed.
