Intro / Exterior
Friends Green Porsche are proud to offer for sale this 996 C4S, finished in the very rare, special order, Polar Silver paint colour (colour code L92M), which is different to the regular Arctic Silver colour regularly found on this model, as it has a metallic blue tone to it, which changes shade under different lighting. The condition of the bodywork is brilliant throughout, with only a few barely-noticeable stone chips to the front bumper. The Porsche has also been given our usual FGP day's worth of detailing to emphasise and protect the fantastic condition of the paintwork. Beneath the car lay its original wide body 4S alloy wheels, which are in good presentable condition with Michelin Pilot Sport tyres fitted. The front tyres have 5mm of tread and the rears have 4mm.
Interior / Spec
The black leather interior is a fantastic suit to the Polar Silver coachwork. The leather inside has clearly been looked after and represents the car's low mileage of 45k miles. All the electrical functions operate just as Porsche intended, inclusive of the electric retractable sun-roof and the air conditioning system, which has recently benefitted from new condensers and front to rear pipes, followed by a system re-gas. There is an array of optional extras with this 4S, including; special order colour, alcantara suede headlining, xenon "litronic" headlights, stainless steel "Carrera" door shuts, heated seats, Bose sound system, silver binnacle dials surround, silver backed dials. There are two remote key fobs with the car. The optional extra codes are as follows: C16, XCA, XCB, XCD, X70, X71, 249, 342, 425, 432, 454, 567, 635, 650, 680, 00501, 09991.
Mechanics / Drive
Mechanically speaking, the 996 is in fantastic shape. The 3.6 litre flat six offers brilliant performance with a sound-track produced through its new stainless steel exhaust to match. We have upgraded the IMS bearing during our sales preparation process, nullifying this cause for concern. The gearbox goes through its gears smoothly and the large brakes supplied on the 4S model produce great stopping power. The handling of the 996 is wonderful, offering a thoroughly enjoyable drive on country back roads where corners are a plenty. There are no abnormal noises from suspension or steering components and the general feel given through the steering wheel is one that is tight and responsive.
Service history / Prep Book
The Porsche has a full service history, with all works carried out solely at Porsche main dealers or Porsche independent specialists. Present is the fully stamped maintenance booklet, the original leather wallet filled with the owner manual etc, and a folder containing paperwork such as invoices for works, HPI certificates, sales invoices, MOTs etc.
The service intervals are as follows: 24/01/2005 - 10,644 miles, 01/04/2008 - 19,545 miles, 02/04/2008 - 19,545 miles, 08/04/2010 - 22,749 miles, 23/03/2012 - 25,876 miles, 17/05/2013 - 33,520 miles, 26/08/2015 - 38,620 miles, 14/02/2018 - 43,101 miles, 22/04/2021 - 45,737 miles.
As is noted above, in preparation for sale, we have just carried out a service on the car, as well as a brake fluid change, and upgrading the all important IMS bearing and rear main oil seal. Less than two years ago, the car was treated to £5,000' worth of work, which included; Renewal of front brake discs and pads, renewal of front to rear brake pipes and N/S/R brake calliper pipe, renewal of exhaust back boxes with stainless steel sports units, renewal of front to rear air conditioning pipe, renewal of 2x air conditioning condenser, air conditioning system re-gas, renewal of front differential seals, renewal of engine core plug.
