The bodywork of this example is very good, with every body panel found in wonderfully straight condition, free from car park "dings" or scrapes. While in with us, we have had the front bumper removed and resprayed to correct the few stone chips that were present (advert pictures are pre-respray). The car is finished in the beautiful "Basalt Black" (colour code L744) paint colour, which is in outstanding condition throughout, possessing an eye-catching metallic glimmer that has not dulled or faded at all throughout the car's life. While in with us, a soft head machine polish and wax has been completed to protect and emphasise this gorgeous paintwork. As noted, this particular example is a non-sun roof model, which is a feature we and the majority of our customers prefer, as it is not only more uncommon, but also offers a cleaner and sleeker looking roof line. In addition, the car was specified from the Porsche factory with the sought after GT3 aero kit, which alongside the sun roof "delete" really makes this particular example stand out from more plainly specified 996s. The Porsche is fitted with it's original and genuine BBS GT3 split alloy wheels, which are in presentable condition with Kumho sports tyres fitted, that have lots of tread remaining.InteriorInside the Porsche is a classic black leather interior with a high number of desirable optional extras. The leather seats are all in nice condition, with only minor wear to the drivers side seat bolstering. The dashboard, door cards, carpets etc are all found in brilliant order and every electrical function works just as Porsche intended; including the air conditioning system, which has just had a new condenser and a re-gas while in with us. As stated, the car has a high spec of optional extras, which includes Bose sound system, "Tequipment" aluminium embodied hand brake, alcantara suede headlining, stainless steel "Carrera" door shut covers, litronic xenon headlights, full trip computer with MPG calculator etc. There are two working remote key fobs with the car. The Porsche has been fitted with an expensive touch screen head-unit which is fully compatible with mobile phones and has a good quality reversing camera. The optional extra codes are as follows: C16, XAG, XJB, XKW, XKX, XNY, XRL, XSC, X46, X70, X71, X76, X98, 226, 249, 09991.
MechanicsThe car operates and performs fantastically and could pass for a model younger than it's years. The 3.6 litre 6 cylinder engine starts on the button, idles smoothly and creates an intoxicating noise through it's stainless steel sports exhausts. There are no leaks underneath, untoward internal noises or oil consumption etc. On the road, there is an abundance of power lying-in-wait beneath the right foot, the tiptronic gearbox changes through it's gears smoothly and the brakes stop the car sharply and confidently, thanks to the new front Brembo discs and pads fitted to the car while in with us. The handling ability of this Porsche is superb, having had a vast amount of it's suspension components replaced in recent years (please see the "service history" section); there is huge amounts of grip in the corners and the car generally feels tight and is responsive to steering input.Service historyThere is a full service history with the Porsche, which includes the fully stamped maintenance booklet, a hard back folder full of paperwork for works completed and all the previous MOT certificates etc, and the original Porsche leather wallet with all the original owners manuals etc.The service intervals completed are as follows: 13/10/2003 - 7,793 miles, 29/09/2004 - 17,179 miles, 16/09/2005 - 22,454 miles, 25/08/2006 - 24,817 miles, 27/06/2007 - 27,914 miles, 25/04/2008 - 31,984 miles, 25/04/2008 - 31,984 miles, 02/02/2009 - 34,916 miles, 01/02/2010 - 46,878 miles, 18/05/2011 - 60,805 miles, 20/03/2012 - 65,452 miles, 21/11/2014 - 74,305 miles, 05/09/2015 - 80,143 miles, 20/08/2016 - 84,389 miles, 06/07/2018 - 95,635 miles. As stated, we have just serviced the car, so this will not need doing again for another 12,000 miles. Some works carried out in recent years other than routine servicing include the renewal of: Stainless steel exhausts, front suspension springs, front lower control arms, rear lower control arms, front towing arms, brake discs and pads all round, air conditioning condenser, ignition switch. While in with us, we have also treated the brake lines.
