Intro / exterior

Here we have a lovely Porsche 996 face-lift model, specified in a desirable combination of specification; a non sun-roof Carrera with a manual gearbox, M030 sports suspension, finished in the timeless combination of black-on-black and equipped with the classic and simplistic 5-spoke Carrera alloy wheels. The bodywork of this example is very good, with every body panel found in wonderfully straight condition, free from car park "dings" or scrapes. The car is finished in the beautiful "Basalt Black" (colour code L744) paint colour, which is in outstanding condition throughout, possessing an eye-catching metallic glimmer that has not dulled or faded at all throughout the car's life. While in with us, a soft head machine polish and wax has been completed to protect and emphasise this gorgeous paintwork. As noted, this particular example is a non-sun roof model, which offers a cleaner and sleeker looking roof line. This particular 996 was specced from factory with the sought after M030 sports suspension package and has been lowered on H&R springs by a further 10-20mm, giving it a sporty stance but without becoming inconvenient when faced with speed bumps. The Porsche is fitted with it's original and genuine BBS Porsche Carrera alloy wheels, which are in good condition with no curb markings. There are Pirelli P Zero tyres to the rear of the car with 5-6mm of tread and Kumho tyres to the front with 7mm of tread.

Inside the Porsche is a classic black leather interior with a high number of desirable optional extras. The leather seats are all in nice condition, with only minor wear to the drivers side seat bolstering. The dashboard, door cards, carpets etc are all found in brilliant order and every electrical function works just as Porsche intended; including the air conditioning system, which has recently benefitted from new condensers, a new main pipe and a re-gas. As stated, the car has a high spec of optional extras, including the important aforementioned sun roof delete and M030 sports suspension, as well as Bose sound system, alcantara suede headlining, litronic xenon headlights, PCM satellite navigation, heated seats, 8-way electric seat positioning and auto-dimming rear and driver's mirror. There are two keys with the car and one is a functioning remote fob. The optional extra codes are as follows: C16, XCA, XCB, XCD, X70, 030, 226, 265, 266, 288, 342, 415, 425, 437, 438, 09991.

The car performs fantastically well and is joyous to drive. The 3.6 litre 6 cylinder engine starts, idles and revs perfectly and there is an intoxicating noise emitted by the new stainless steel sports exhausts that are fitted to the Porsche. On the road, there is an abundance of power lying-in-wait beneath the right foot, the manual gearbox changes through it's six speeds smoothly and the brakes stop the car sharply and confidently, thanks to the new rear Brembo discs and pads fitted to the car while in with us. The handling ability of the 911 is superb, the M030 sports suspension package provides a slightly stiffer chassis, which is helpful when driving the Porsche in a spirited fashion. The suspension and steering components all feel tight through the steering wheel and we have had the front drop links renewed in preparation for sale.
