Porsche 911 996 Carrera 2 manual, registered on 22/03/2001, 74,499 miles, MOT 31/10/2019, full service history, 4 owners, HPI clear.
Offered here is the opportunity to own this beautifully kept example of the ever increasingly sought after Porsche 996 coupe with manual gearbox. The Basalt black coachwork (paint colour code L744) is in fabulous condition throughout, with all of the body panels straight and without damage or repair. The paintwork is equally fabulous with a dazzling metallic shine, which has not dulled over the years. The paint is free from any notable scratches and also free from swirl marks, thanks to the full body soft head machine polish and hand wax carried out while with us at Friends Green Porsche. This 996 is a non-sun roof model, which we and most of our customers prefer as it is less common and offers a cleaner and sleeker looking roof-line. While with us we have had the rear bumper removed and professionally resprayed to remedy the few marks that were present (the photographs are pre-respray). The alloy wheels are the original and genuine Porsche BBS "turbo twist" wheels. All four have been recently refurbished so are without a mark and the tyres fitted are Pirelli P Zeros on the rear and Bridgestone Potenzas on the front, all of which were new 2 years/3,000 miles ago.
The cabin is finished in the popular grey leather, which offers an aesthetically pleasing contrast to the black exterior colour. The interior is found in very good order with seats that have minimal wear and represent the low 74k miles that the car has covered. The carpets in the car are in very nice condition, the dash board and door cards are all very clean and the headlining is as new. The electrical functions in the car all work perfectly and the Porsche is equipped with some desirable optional extras such as the full trip computer with MPG calculator etc, "Tequipment" aluminium embodied handbrake and gear stick and three prong steering wheel.
This Porsche has been meticulously maintained by it's previous owners, having had £10,500 spent on it's maintenance since 2014, and as such, the mechanical order of the car is fantastic. The 3.4 litre flat 6 starts at the first time of asking, idles smoothly and revs cleanly. There is no smoke, leaks or abnormal noises, just the gorgeous sound produced by the new stainless steel sports exhaust system that is fitted to the car. The clutch and six speed manual gearbox provide a positive and smooth gear change and the brakes stop the car sharply having had all the discs and pads renewed 17,000 miles/4 years ago. The 911 feels utterly tight through the steering and provides brilliant handling ability, largely due to a lot of the fundamental suspension components being renewed within the last few years (detailed in the service history section).
As stated, there has been over £10,500 spent on the car's maintenance in the last four years and this is fully documented within the car's folder of service history (detailed below). There is of course also the maintenance booklet present which has 12 service interval stamps, and all of the original Porsche booklets and wallets etc.
The service intervals are as follows: 24/05/2002 - 7,021 miles, 12/12/2003 - 11,161 miles, 14/02/2006 - 18,273 miles, 16/02/2007 - 30,887 miles, 07/03/2008 - 37,313 miles, 27/06/2009 - 45,562 miles, 20/05/2010 - 49,250 miles, 14/05/2011 - 51,985 miles, 03/07/2012 - 56,175 miles, 24/10/2014 - 58,996 miles, 07/09/2016 - 70,577 miles, 27/07/2018 - 73,667 miles.
As noted, the Porsche has just been serviced so this will not need doing for another 12,000 miles. Recent works other than routine servicing detailed by the service history file include: stainless steel sports exhaust system, 6x coil packs, 6x spark plugs, re-charge pump, dash illumination repair, 4x tyres, 4 wheel alignment, alternator, manifold studs, battery, brake fluid, coolant, coolant hoses, front lower control arms, power steeling rack pipe, brake lines, rear anti roll bar centre mounts, main chassis to engine earth, driveshaft, door mechanism, shaft ABS ring, brake discs and pads all round.
