Porsche 911 996 Carrera 2 manual, registered 16/09/1998, 118k miles, 12 months MOT, full service history, 5+ owners, HPI clear.Walk-around video of this car available at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=br2rEW5je1QExteriorPresented in the manual coupe guise and equipped with the GT3 styling aero kit, this rear wheel driven 996 with factory fitted LSD option is a very desirable example. This 996 has been looked after very well by its previous owners having only ever been serviced at Porsche main dealers. The coachwork is in fabulous order throughout, with both sides perfectly straight and all of the body panels free from any car park dings or damage. The Arctic Silver paint work (paint colour code L92U) is stunning, maintaining it's glossy metallic shine, with no noteworthy scratches and minimal stone chips to the nose of the car. While with us, the Porsche has benefitted from a full body soft machine polish and hand wax, emphasising and protecting the fabulous condition of the paint work. The 996 rests on it's original and genuine Porsche BBS alloys, which are the two piece split GT3 design wheels. All four wheels have been split and professionally refurbished not too long ago, although one rim has one minor curb mark. The tyres fitted are Michelin Pilot Sport tyres with lots of life remaining.InteriorThe full black leather interior makes for an aesthetically pleasing colour combination alongside the silver exterior and the condition inside is very good. The seats do not have significant wear, with only very minor signs to the drivers side bolster, the dashboard and door-cards are in superb condition and the headlining and carpets are immaculate. All of the electrical switches etc work as they should, including the electrical retractible sun roof. There has been a double din head unit installed which is in keeping with the dash's styling and has bluetooth audio connectivity and a reversing camera etc. This 996 has some nice optional extras, such as the 8 way electric seats, the premium sound system with the extra speakers in the door-cards and of course the limited slip differential. The optional extra codes on the car are as follows: C16, 220, 222, 224, 236, 413, 424, 437, 438, 490, 538, 650, 695.MechanicsMechanically speaking this 996 is without fault and drives tremendously well. The 3.4 litre engine starts crisply, is silky smooth on idle and revs through it's rev range cleanly. No fluids are leaked underneath, no smoke is emitted and a very healthy sound is produced through the stainless steel exhaust system fitted to the car. The six speed manual gearbox changes up and down through it's gears smoothly and the clutch is light and engages as it should having been renewed along with the flywheel 15,000 miles ago. The brakes are healthy with lots of life remaining, stopping the car sharply and confidently. The steering and suspension feel tight and responsive, having just had its front lower control arms renewed while with us. As noted above, this 996 benefits from the limited slip differential, which makes for a lively and sporty 911 through the corners.Service historyThere is a full service history present with the Porsche, made up of a folder filled with works invoices, MOT certificates, HPI reports etc and of course the original Porsche leather wallet containing the original owners manuals and the servicing booklet with 16 maintenance intervals, all by the Porsche main dealer. The service intervals completed list as follows: 28/09/1999 - 10,659 miles, 15/09/2000 - 19,890 miles, 08/09/2001 - 33,288 miles, 18/09/2002 - 44,000 miles, 03/11/2003 - 49,271 miles, 01/12/2004 - 51,732 miles, 23/12/2005 - 56,222 miles, 13/02/2007 - 60,987 miles, 05/12/2007 - 65,912 miles, 19/05/2009 - 71,972 miles, 17/05/2010 - 76,606 miles, 29/09/2012 - 88,590 miles, 15/07/2014 - 101,876 miles, 07/09/2016 - 109,589 miles, 09/07/2019 - 118,187 miles. As noted, the car has just undergone a minor service while with us so won't need another for a further 12,000 miles.
