Friends Green Porsche are pleased to offer for sale this very special example of the increasingly sought after 996. Owned by its previous owner for 12 years, this 911 is factory fitted with the GT3 aero kit and is finished in original Guards Red (paint colour L84A), which makes for an incredibly rare Porsche and one that draws attention wherever it travels. In addition, the desirable M030 sports suspension kit, which drops the car by 10mm, was fitted by Porsche in 2012, giving the car a better stance as well as a more sporty driving feel. The bodywork is beautifully straight along all panels and there aren’t any scrapes or damage to note of. There are stone chips to the front bumper and inside the bottom of the wheel arches, but other than this, the paintwork is exceptional, possessing a fabulously vibrant shine, benefitting from a full body soft headed machine polish and hand wax while in with us. The original Porsche BBS GT3 style alloy wheels sit beneath the car, which have just been professionally refurbished so are without a mark. N rated Bridgestone Potenza tyres are fitted to the wheels, which were new in 2018 and have lots of tread life remaining.
An incredibly clean and well kept leather interior is found within the cabin of the Porsche. The sports hard back seats with shoulder supports have very minimal wear to them and the cars carpets are almost as new. Usual wear points such as the steering wheel and handbrake have also suffered almost no wear. Everything inside the car is original and works just as Porsche intended. There are two keys present and there is an array of option extras which include: GT3 aero kit, X74 sports suspension kit, sports hard back seats with shoulder supports, three prong steering wheel, alcantara suede headlining, Tequipment chromed tail pipe tips. The optional extra codes read as follows: C16, XAA, XRL, X54, X74, 236, 375, 376, 424, 425, 436, 476, 567, 650, 689, 695, 936, 981, 983, 09991.
Mechanically speaking, this Porsche is faultless. The engine starts, revs and performs as it did when it left Stuttgart in 2001. The IMS bearing has been upgraded, so this potential fault has been covered and there are no leaks underneath the car and no smoke emitted from the rear. Stainless steel sports exhausts have recently been fitted, which provide a lovely sound track to accompany the fantastic performance. The clutch is light, as it should be, having been renewed with the IMS bearing and flywheel at 83k miles in 2015 and the gearbox goes through all six gears smoothly. The brakes stop the car very well, with new discs, pads, pipes and fluid in 2019. The car’s suspension all feels tight, having had the full M030 suspension renewal carried out by Porsche in 2012, which includes shock absorbers, springs and anti roll bars. The M030 suspension has improved the handling ability of the car, which feels nimble and responsive to steering inputs.
The previous owner, who owned the car for the last 12 years, was a professional engineer and had great passion for his Porsche’s maintenance, demonstrated by the large folder that is present with the car, which is filled with paperwork for all works carried out on the car, previous sales adverts, MOT certificates etc, all chronologically ordered and with relative notes on the backs of the papers. In addition, the stamped up maintenance booklet and original owners manuals contained within the original Porsche leather wallet are all also present.
