Intro / exterior
Here we have the opportunity to offer for sale this fabulous example of the Porsche 996, that we have already had the pleasure of preparing and selling just 10 months ago. Due to the current circumstances in the world, the proud owner was not using the car and we are delighted to have it back in our possession. Presented in the coupe, non sun-roof guise, and finished in gorgeous Midnight Blue (colour code L39C), this 996 is a sight to behold. M030 sports suspension as specced from the factory, sitting the car 10mm lower, and the aero side skirts are also fitted, which makes for a Porsche with brilliant stance and presence . The bodywork is in lovely condition, straight along every panel and free from any previous repairs. The car has benefitted from our usual day's worth of FGP detailing and has helped present just what brilliant condition the paintwork is in, with only a few imperfections such as stone chips to the front bumper. The original Carrera alloy wheels present very well and have nearly-new N rated Pirelli P-Zero tyres fitted.
The cockpit is filled by a Metropol Blue leather interior, which compliments the exterior body colour nicely. The condition of the interior is like that of a far younger car, with everything in outstanding order and with very little signs of wear, including even to the usual wear points such as the drivers side bolster, steering wheel and gearstick. All the electrical functions inside the car work as Porsche intended, including the air conditioning system, which has benefitted from two new condensers just six months ago. There is an array of optional extra spec, which includes PCM satellite navigation, full "Tequipment" package including aluminium embodied handbrake, aluminium embodied gearstick and stainless steel "Carrera" door shuts, alcantara suede headlining, Litronic xenon headlights and of course the M030 sports suspension. There are two keys with the car and the optional extra codes for the Porsche read as follows: C16, XCA, XCB, XCD, X54, X70, X71, X76, X97, X98, 030, 226, 288, 375, 376, 09991.
The 3.6 litre flat 6 mounted to the rear of the Porsche runs silky smooth with no leaks, smoke or untoward noises; just the beautiful noise emitted through the stainless steel sports back boxes that are fitted. As is noted in the title, the IMS bearing was upgraded by us 10 months / 2,000 miles ago when we prepared the car upon the first sale. The clutch is as it should be with a light pedal and a positive bite, having also been renewed by us 10 months ago. The six speed manual gearbox shifts seamlessly and the car feels wonderfully tight when travelling along the road, with directness to the steering and silent suspension. The brakes on the car are virtually new, having had new discs and pads in all four corners within the last 1,000 miles.
