Intro / exterior

Here we have a lovely example of the Porsche 996 in the beautiful Arctic Silver (paint colour code L92U). The coachwork of this Porsche is in superb order with no dings, dents or notable marks. The panels all align immaculately and the sides of the car are pin-straight. The paintwork is equally nice with a deep glossy shine, minimal marks or stone chips and protection provided by our usual full day's worth of FGP detailing that we have completed. Beneath the Porsche lay its original Porsche Carrera alloy wheels, which are in very good presentable condition, having been refurbished recently. Michelin Pilot Sport tyres are fitted with 7mm of tread to the front and 5.5mm of tread to the rear.

The deep blue coloured leather, known as "Metropol Blue", sits very nicely alongside the Arctic Silver exterior and provides for a classy looking 911. The leather seats have suffered very little wear, the carpets and optional alcantara suede headlining are in as-new condition, and the dashboard and door-cards look very well. Even the normal wear points such as the steering wheel, hand-brake and gear stick, which notably are the optional "Tequipment" items with aluminium embodiment, are in brilliant order. Everything in the Porsche works as it should including the air conditioning system, which benefitted from a new pipe, seals and a re-gas within the last 6 months, and therefore blows ice cool. There are two keys present and the optional extra codes read as follows: C16, X97, X98, 226, 411, 425, 490, 567, 692, 936, 981, 983, 985, 09991.

The Porsche has been maintained meticulously and this tells through the way it drives. The 3.6 litre flat 6 engine mounted at the rear of the car performs perfectly with a beautifully smooth idle, blinding performance and a wonderful exhaust note emitted by the sports stainless steel back boxes that have recently been fitted. There are no oil leaks, no smoke and no untoward internal noises. The IMS bearing has been inspected and confirmed as the later, stronger unit, so is not a cause of concern with this 996. The manual gearbox changes through it's six speeds smoothly and the clutch is light with a positive engagement having been renewed within the last 4,000 miles / 2 years, along with the rear main oil seal and IMS inspection. The steering of the Porsche feels absolutely tight and provides great confidence to the driver when driving the car in a spirited fashion. Lastly the brakes are in perfect order with lots of life remaining to the discs and pads.
