Intro / exterior

Offered for sale, here we have this lovely example of the Porsche 996, specified in the desirable manual, coupe, rear wheel driven guise, and presented in the beautiful Seal Grey (paint colour code L6B4), with a classic black leather interior. The coachwork is found in superb order with no dings, dents or notable marks. The panels all align immaculately and the sides of the car are pin-straight. The paintwork is in exquisite condition with a deep glossy shine, minimal marks or stone chips and protection provided by the customary FGP day's worth of detailing that's just been completed. Beneath the Porsche lay its original Porsche Sports Design alloy wheels, which are in nice condition and have new Pirelli P Zero tyres fitted all round.

The black leather interior sits very nicely alongside the Seal Grey exterior and provides for a classy looking 911. The leather seats are in superb condition, the carpets and headlining are as-new, the dashboard and door-cards look very well, and even the usual wear points such as the steering wheel and driver's side bolstering present superbly . Everything in the Porsche works as it should including the ice-cool air conditioning system and the electric retractable sun-roof. There are some nice factory options with this car, including; sports hard back seat with shoulder supports, suede alcantara headlining, litronic xenon headlights, Tequipment hand-brake with aluminium embodiment, cruise control, automatic dimming rear view mirror, centre console finished in extended leather. There are two keys with the car and one is an operational remote fob. The optional extra codes read as follows: C16, XMZ, XRL, XSB, XX1, XX2, 226, 265, 266, 288, 375, 376, 424, 425, 446, 09971, 09991.

In the mechanical regard, this 996 is brilliant. The 3.6 litre flat 6 engine mounted at the rear of the car performs perfectly with a beautifully smooth idle, blinding performance and a wonderful sound produced through the new stainless steel exhaust manifolds and back boxes that are fitted. There are no oil leaks, no smoke and no untoward internal noises. The IMS bearing has been upgraded while in with us so this cause for concern has been nullified. The manual gearbox changes through its six speeds smoothly and the clutch is light with a positive engagement having also been renewed by us. During our prep, we have also renewed all four suspension lower control arms, and as such, the steering of the Porsche feels absolutely tight and provides great confidence to the driver when driving the car in a spirited fashion. The brakes stop the car with force, with an array of recent brake pipe renewals carried out, as well as the front brake pads renewed recently, too.
