Porsche 911 996 Carrera 2 manual, registered on 01/09/2000, 110,642 miles, MOT 22/06/2019, full service history, 5 owners, HPI clear.
Presented here is an example that we had in stock just over two years ago and that we have bought back from the customer, in knowledge of what a good car it is. This Porsche is found with a gorgeous colour combination of Ocean Blue paint colour (paint code L3AZ) and matching Metropol Blue leather interior. The Porsche is a non-sun roof model, which is uncommon and leaves a cleaner and less cluttered looking roof line across the car. The bodywork is beautifully straight, without any car park dents or scrapes and the paintwork is in exceptional condition, possessing an untainted deep metallic shine that really catches the eye. While in with us, we have had both the front and rear bumper removed and professionally resprayed to remedy the stone chips that were present. We have also given the car a full body soft machine polish and hand wax to emphasise and protect the fantastic condition of the paintwork. The alloy wheels are the original and genuine Porsche BBS "turbo twist" wheels. All four are in presentable condition and the tyres fitted are Continental Conti sports which were new 2 years and 8,000 miles ago, so have lots of life remaining.
As stated earlier, the 996 has a Metropol Blue leather interior, which suits the colour of the exterior perfectly. The interior does not represent it's age, capable of passing for that of a much younger car, with no damage and minimal wear. There are some minor surface cracks to the side bolstering of the drivers seat and some minor discolouring to the steering wheel, but everything else, such as the optional extra suede alcantara headlining, dashboard, carpets etc are all found in brilliant condition. All the electrical functions inside the cabin work as they should do, including the air conditioning, which benefitted from two new condensers within the last three years. This particular example is a fairly basic specced car, which is something we and a lot of our customers prefer, as it leaves a more analogue and involved sports car. There is no PSM (Porsche Stability Management), or even TC (traction control). As detailed earlier, there is no sunroof and the only notable optional extras are the onboard trip computer with MPG calculator etc and the three prong steering wheel. The optional extra codes are as follows: 236, 413, 425, 436, 567, 659, 936, 981, 983.
The Porsche is in fantastic mechanical condition, having been meticulously cared for by it's previous owner's, as is documented by the extensive folder of history that is present. The rear-mounted six cylinder engine starts from cold and warm just as it should, and there is no smoking from the exhausts, leaks underneath or abnormal noises within. The 300bhp is most certainly still present, with the car able to accelerate rapidly when called upon. In 2015 a sports stainless steel exhaust system was fitted, including stainless steel manifolds and back boxes, which produces a lovely sporty sound, without any "drone". The gear change from the six speed manual gearbox is silky smooth and the clutch peddle is light and engages as it should do. In the corners the Porsche has brilliant grip and feels tight through the steering wheel with no rattles or other abnormal noises coming from suspension components. The brakes stop the car firmly, with the brake pads replaced all round in 2016.
There is an impeccable service history present with the car, including a thick folder of paperwork that evidences over £9,000 worth of work spent on the car since 2014, and works that date back through the years from when the car was new. There is also the maintenance booklet with 14 stamps from Porsche main dealer or independant specialists, the original owners wallet with all the owners manuals etc, and other paperwork such as past sales invoices for the car and nearly all the MOT certificates.
The service intervals are as follows: 14/08/2001 - 9,563 miles, 01/08/2002 - 17,810 miles, 13/08/2003 - 27,168 miles, 13/08/2004 - 35,281 miles, 19/08/2005 - 41,887 miles, 10/08/2006 - 49,652 miles, 14/06/2007 - 56,638 miles, 12/07/2008 - 64,374 miles, 08/08/2009 - 68,604 miles, 04/10/2012 - 77,396 miles, 07/03/2014 - 84,868 miles, 12/10/2015 - 100,382 miles, 17/06/2017 - 107,850 miles, 26/09/2018 - 110,638 miles.
As noted, the Porsche has just been serviced while in with us, so this will not need doing for another 12,000 miles. Recent works other than routine servicing detailed by the service history file include: Renewal of the water pump, bonnet struts, steering lock, crank sensor, exhaust back boxes and exhaust manifolds, coolant radiators, air conditioning condensers, brakes pads all round, tyres all round, four wheel alignment, "AutoFarm inspection and correction", ignition switch, suspension control arm, suspension steering arm, brake fluid, spark plug tubes, brake discs all round.
