Presented here is this stunning and rare example of the Porsche 996, that the previous owner was so fond of that he owned it for 12 years. Guards Red convertible cars are few and far between and with beautiful bodywork throughout and equally beautiful paintwork, this 996 really stands out amongst the crowd. There are minimal stone chips to the nose of the car and no car park dings or scrapes on the body panels, making for a very clean 911. The paintwork itself has a superb glossy shine with no signs of the deep red colour fading. While in with us we have treated the car to a full body soft machine polish and hand wax to emphasise the brilliant paintwork and provide protection. The rare optional extra "Litronic" xenon headlights are in very nice condition with no yellow oxidisation. The black soft top hood is in good shape with no damage or wear and the rear screen is also in good order. The Porsche rolls on genuine Porsche BBS 18" alloy wheels, which are all in very good condition and have nearly new Pirelli tyres fitted.
The interior of the Porsche is beautiful contrasting Savannah leather. The condition inside is very good with the leather in good shape, free from damage and with only slight wear to the drivers seat side bolster and steering wheel. The carpets are in very good order, the dashboard and door-cards present well and all of the electrical functions work as they should, including of course the electric convertible hood. The Porsche has factory fitted cruise control and the premium sound system with the additional front speakers in the door-cards. As noted above, it also boasts the incredibly rare and original Litronic xenon headlights, which provide a far greater light than the usual halogen spec lights. There are two keys with the car, one of which is a fully working remote fob. The optional extra codes for the car are as follows: C16, 288, 424, 454, 490, 551, 571, 601, 695, 790, 939, 982.
The 911 drives superbly and without fault. The engine is silky smooth at idle, revs cleanly and sounds fantastic through the stainless steel sports exhaust system that is fitted. The car is dry underneath and does not smoke on start up etc. The car shifts up and down through it's six gears smoothly and the clutch is good having been renewed 6,000 miles ago. The brakes stop the Porsche well and the handling of the car is brilliant with tremendous grip provided by the four wheel drive system and the nearly new Pirelli P Zero tyres that are fitted. The suspension is quiet over bumps and the car simply feels fresh and confidence-filling in the corners.
There is a good service history with the Porsche, including the service booklet showing 11 maintenance intervals completed, paperwork for previous works, MOT certificates, HPI reports and the original Porsche leather wallet containing the owners manuals.
The service intervals are as follows:
19/04/2000 - 9,109 miles, 23/04/2001 - 14,077 miles, 15/04/2002 - 20,258 miles, 29/04/2003 - 25,188 miles, 25/05/2004 - 30,502 miles, 08/03/2005 - 43,455 miles, 22/05/2006 - 57,163 miles, 13/07/2007 - 68,994 miles, 28/05/2008 - 70,778 miles, 31/10/2013 - 77,274 miles, 09/07/2019 - 82,981 miles.
As noted, the car has been serviced while with us, so shall not need doing again for another 12,000 miles. Please also note that although the last services had a lapse in time between intervals, the car covered very little mileage and was under the same ownership for the last 12 years.
