Intro / Exterior
This example of the 997 Carrera is in superb condition throughout and is found with a desirable combination of specification. The IMS bearing has been upgraded as part of our preparation process, so this topic of concern needn't be worried about with this example. Presented in the beautiful Seal Grey body colour (paint colour code L6B4), the body is perfectly straight and original, with paintwork that is immaculate, possessing a beautiful glossy finish. The car has benefitted from our usual FGP full day's detailing process and as such the superb aesthetics of the 911 are emphasised and protected. The Porsche sits on its original and genuine Porsche BBS 19" "Carrera Classic" alloy wheels which are in nice condition with Michelin Pilot Sport tyres fitted to all four corners. The front tyres were renewed during our sales preparation process and the rear tyres have 5mm of tread.
Interior / Spec
The condition of the interior serves the 997 well. The front seats are the desirable sports seats with the hard backing and the shoulder supports. They are found in good order with very little wear. Areas such as the carpets, headlining, steering wheel etc are all in excellent condition and the cockpit makes for a lovely place to be. This Carrera has some welcomed factory optional extras which includes; the aforementioned sports hard back seats, cruise control, and Bose sound system with built in subwoofer. There are two remote key fobs with the Porsche and the optional extra codes read as follows: C16, 375, 376, 425, 454, 567, 610, 666, 670, 680, 692, 936, 981, 983.
Mechanics / Drive
The 911 is found in wonderful mechanical condition, having just had all of the most common 997 niggles rectified during our preparation process (detailed in the below "Service History / Sales Prep" section). The 3.6 litre flat six mounted over the rear axle is in rude health, with a sprightly start-up, smooth idle and thrilling performance and power out on the road. We have upgraded the IMS bearing in preparation for sale, so this potential problem is now nullified with this example. The manual gearbox travels through its six speeds effortlessly, with new gear cables just fitted, and the clutch is beautifully light and with a positive bite, having also just been renewed by us, along with the rear main oil seal. The Porsche handles fantastically, feeling utterly tight through its steering and suspension. The brakes are equally good, with nearly new discs and pads in all four corners.
