Intro / exterior

Here we have a beautiful example of the Porsche 997 Carrera S, which we have installed the upgraded IMS bearing to, nullifying this prominent cause for concern with these cars. The car has been meticulously cared for by its owners and this really shows through its aesthetics. The coachwork is wonderful with its beautiful curvature free from car park dings, scratches and general damage. The Arctic Silver (paint colour code L92U) paintwork is in fabulous condition with a deep metallic shine and free from any scratches or swirl marks, also benefitting from our usual FGP day's worth of detailing. There are a few very minor stone chips to the front bumper, but this is being highly critical. The 997 sits on its original Porsche 19" alloy wheels, which are in pristine condition, having been refurbished while in with us (pictures prior to refurbishment). Bridgestone Potenzas lay beneath the car, which are new at the front and have 4.5mm of tread to the rear.

The black leather interior fulfils the classic and sought after Porsche combination of Arctic silver paint with black interior. Everything inside has worn very well indeed, including the areas that usually show signs of wear, such as the drivers side bolster and steering wheel. The dashboard and optional extra alcantara suede headlining are as new, the door cards and carpets are without noteworthy wear, all of the dials and switches work as Porsche intended for them to, and the air condition system blows ice cool, having had both condensers renewed a hand full of miles ago. The Porsche boasts some nice spec such as; Sports Chrono package, alcantara suede headlining, sports hard-back seats with shoulder supports, front seat heating, steering wheel controls, Bose sound system. There are two remote key fobs with the car.

Mechanics / drive

As stated above, the 911 has been cared for meticulously and as such, drives like a dream. The 3.8 litre engine performs just as Porsche intended, with a nice smooth idle, vast power and performance on the road, and a gorgeous soundtrack for company. As detailed earlier, we have upgraded the IMS bearing during our preparation process, as well as renewing the clutch and rear main oil seal. The manual gearbox provides a smooth change through all six gears and the big "S" brakes stop the car confidently, having had renewal of discs and pads all round very recently. The handling ability of the 911 is fantastic and the suspension is beautifully tight, having had numerous components renewed by us in preparation for sale (detailed below), as well as benefitting from new engine mounts, which again, only improves the handling ability of the 911 even more so. The Sports Chrono package allows the driver to change the character of the car's handling; it is a taut and lively sports car when sports mode is selected, but a drivable and comfortable car for cruising when deactivated.
