Porsche 911 997 Carrera S manual, registered on 01/01/2005 65,636 miles, 12 months MOT, full service history, 3 previous owners, HPI clear. 


Intro / Exterior

Here we have a beautiful example of the Porsche 997 Carrera S, which had its engine renewed by Porsche in 2010, meaning it has the later, stronger IMS shaft and bearing configuration, nullifying this cause for concern. Being an early 997, the car is also in the lower, cheaper road tax category. The car has been meticulously cared for by its three previous owners, evidenced by the wad of servicing history that's with the car. The coachwork is wonderful with its beautiful curvature free from car park dings, scratches and general damage. The Arctic Silver (colour code L92U) paintwork is in gorgeous condition, free from any scratches or swirl marks and benefitting from our usual FGP full day's worth of detailing. The 997 sits on its original Porsche 19" Carrera wheels, which we have had refurbished and are therefore in immaculate condition. New Michelin Pilot Sport tyres were fitted in May of this year. 

Interior / Spec 

A timeless black leather interior on an Arctic Silver exterior makes for a classy combination. The overall condition inside is superb. All of the leather presents very well, the carpets, door cards and dashboard are unmarked, the headlining is as-new, and even the commonly worn areas such as the driver's side bolstering and steering wheel show only minor wear. All of the electrical functions operate as they should, including the air condition system, which had two new condensers in 2019. The Porsche boasts all the usual Carrera S specification such as; silver coloured instrument dials, alcantara suede headlining, litronic xenon headlights, PCM satellite navigation, as well as two of the most sought after optional extras; the sports hard back seats with should supports, and the Porsche Switchable Exhaust system (PSE), which was retro-fitted by the Porsche main dealer in 2013, and is therefore is in good un-corroded condition. There are two remote key fobs with the car. The optional extra codes read as follows: C16, 375, 376, 405, 567, 610, 650, 666, 670, 692, 936, 981, 983.


Mechanics / Drive

The 997 has been kept to the highest standard, with over £20,000 worth of maintenance bills in the last ten years (which is post engine replacement), all carried out by the Porsche main dealer or independent specialists. The boxer engine mounted above the rear axle operates just as Porsche intended and as noted above, in 2010, at 20,534 miles, the engine was renewed by the Porsche main dealer, meaning it now has the strengthened variant of the IMS shaft and bearing, eradicating this potential problem. The noise produced by the 911 is fabulous; it emits a modest and smooth exhaust note when PSE is not in operation, but a throaty roar when the PSE is switched to loud mode. The clutch is light with a positive bite, renewed by the Porsche main dealer in 2013 at 33,613 miles. The manual gearbox provides a smooth gear change, having had its gear cables renewed in 2017 at 50,746 miles. The big "S" brakes were renewed all round in 2016 at 45,750 miles, and stop the car with tremendous power. The car has just had substantial work carried out to its suspension (detailed below), and as such, it feels as tight and as fresh behind the wheel as the day it left the factory. 

Service History / Sales Prep

As has been mentioned, the service history provenance is second-to-none. The thick folder filled with paperwork evidences how the car was only ever looked after by the Porsche main dealer until 2014, and by independent Porsche specialists thereafter. The Porsche leather wallet containing all of the original owners manuals and the maintenance booklet is present, with the booklet showing the following service intervals:
