Intro / exterior

Here we have a fabulous example of the Porsche 996 Carrera 4. The coachwork of the car is in wonderful condition, with pin-straight body panels, no untoward scrapes or scratches, and few minor stone chips to the nose. Finished in Arctic Silver (paint colour code L92U), which is the colour that is fast becoming the classic 996 colour, the paint-work presents very well, with a fantastic deep metallic shine, having been subject to our usual FGP day's worth of detailing. Something we particularly like about this example is the fact that it is a non sun-roof model, which presents a cleaner and sleeker looking roof-line. Beneath the car lay its original Porsche BBS, two-piece split "Sport Classic" alloys, which are in pristine condition, having benefitted from recent refurbishment. The tyres fitted are Continental Conti Sports with at least 6mm of tread remaining.

Inside the car is a black leather interior that compliments the silver exterior wonderfully. The overall condition inside is very good, with no notable damage and only minimal wear to note. The seats show minimal wear, including to the most prone wear points, such as the driver's side bolstering. The alcantara suede headlining is as new and the carpets, dashboard and door cards are also all in fabulous condition. All the electrical functions work just as they are supposed to, including the air conditioning system, which blows ice-cool. There are two remote key fobs with the car.

This example is a dream to drive, having been cared for meticulously by its 4 previous custodians. The engine performs faultlessly with a lovely smooth idle, a beautiful noise and acceleration to match. It is free from leaks, doesn't emit smoke or untoward noises and is free from IMS bearing concerns, having had the EPS cylindrical upgraded unit installed by us in preparation for sale. The gearbox also operates just as Porsche intended with a smooth and positive change through all six speeds and the clutch is light and bites as it should, having been renewed along with the rear main oil seal 5,000 miles ago. The brakes have great feel and stopping power, having had new front discs and pads within the last 8,000 miles. The handling is superb, with many suspension components benefitting from renewals, including items such as front suspension top mounts, top bearings, bump stops, and 4x lower control arms all within the last 13,000 miles.
