Porsche 911 996 Carrera 2 manual, registered on 01/03/1999, 103,446 miles, 12 months MOT, full service history, 8 owners, HPI clear.
This is a fabulous example of the ever appreciating early Porsche 996. The colour combination of Ocean blue bodywork (paint colour code L3AZ) and light grey interior is lovely and suits the 996 beautifully. This particular car is a non-sunroof model, which presents a much cleaner, sleeker shape along the roof of the car. The bodywork itself is in outstanding condition with no car park dings or scrapes etc. The paintwork is also very good, with only the odd stone chipping. The car has benefitted from a full body machine polish and wax with us, which has really emphasised the Metallic glimmer in the Ocean Blue colour. The alloy wheels are the original and genuine Porsche BBS "turbo twist" wheels, all four are in good condition and are fitted with premium branded tyres with plenty of tread.
As mentioned, the light grey leather is a nice compliment to the Ocean Blue exterior and is all in lovely order. The sports hard back seats with shoulder supporting have worn well with only minor cracks to the driver's side bolster. All the carpets, dash and door cards are in nice condition, and the headlining is as new. Everything operates as Porsche intended to and there is a good specification with the sports hard back seats, three prong steering wheel, trip computer with mpg/range etc. There are two working key FOBS with the car. The car's optional extra codes are as follows: C16, 236, 375, 376, 413, 424, 436, 446, 490, 659, 695.
The Porsche drives brilliantly and feels much younger than it's years. The steering is tight and responsive and the general handling ability of the car is superb. The engine performs wonderfully with great power all the way through the rev range and a smooth idle. The sound from the 3.4 litre flat six is joyous; emphasised by the nearly-new Dansk stainless steel exhaust system that is fitted. There is no smoking and no abnormal noises. No leaks are present, but for a minor sweat from the rear main seal. As stated later, a new RMS, clutch kit and IMS bearing can be fitted for £1200 (or less without IMS). The gears operate smoothly with the clutch, gearbox bearing and flywheel all renewed at 70k miles. The brakes are sharp and responsive, with the front discs and pads renewed on 10/08/2016.
The Porsche comes with a comprehensive service history, with a fully stamped maintenance booklet, all the original owners manuals and leather wallet, a folder full of invoices for works completed, lots of MOT certificates, HPI report, and past sales invoices etc.
The service intervals completed are as follows: 22/02/2000 - 9,823 miles, 29/11/2000 - 21,638 miles, 29/07/2001 - 35,661 miles, 09/09/2002 - 41,097 miles, 13/02/2004 - 47,748 miles, 21/02/2005 - 53,479 miles, 13/04/2006 - 58,522 miles, 16/08/2007 - 68,270 miles, 11/10/2008 - 71,955 miles, 02/09/2009 - 74,713 miles, 29/09/2010 - 78,772 miles, 17/05/2012 - 84,996 miles, 20/10/2015 - 86,828 miles, 22/11/2016 - 97,764 miles, 07/09/2017 - 103,446 miles.
As stated, the car has just been serviced, so this will not need doing again for another 12,000 miles. In recent years the car has also benefitted from things such as; new window regulator, rear screen seal, front brakes discs and pads, stainless steel exhausts with stainless steel fitting kit, anti roll bar bushes, battery.
