Porsche 911 996 Carrera 2 manual, registered on 01/01/1999, 123k miles, 12 months MOT, full service history, 7 previous owners, HPI clear. 


Intro / exterior

Here lays the opportunity to be the new owner of a beautifully kept, early and original example of the increasingly sought after manual, coupe, rear wheel driven, pre-face lift 996. Finished in the eye-catching Zenith Blue (paint colour code L3AX) and specced as a non-sun roof model with M030 sports chassis, the 911 is a pretty and dainty thing to look at. The sun roof delete provides a sleek and clean looking roof line and the M030 sports chassis lowers the car by 10mm, providing a sporty stance. The bodywork is superb, with the un-mistakable 911 curvature perfectly straight and without any dents or dings. The paintwork is also in healthy condition, free from scrapes, scratches and blemishes. The front bumper has few stone chips and the headlights are nice and clear. While in with us, the car has benefitted from a full detail including machine polish and hand wax to protect the paintwork.The alloy wheels are genuine Porsche alloy wheels in presentable condition and with Michelin Pilot Sport tyres fitted with 5-6mm of tread to the front and 4-5mm to the rear. 



Inside the cockpit lays a Graphite Grey leather interior, which sits nicely alongside the Zenith Blue exterior, providing an aesthetically pleasing contrast. The leather has worn fantastically well, in fact, it could pass for a car of half its age and mileage, with very little wear, even to the areas that wear most heavily such as drivers bolster and steering wheel etc. Every electrical function works as it should, the air conditioning blows ice cool and there are two keys with the car, with one working remote fob. In the way of optional extras, this 996 of course benefits from the aforementioned M030 sports chassis and sun roof delete, as well as upgraded sound package with door speakers, three-prong steering wheel, aluminium embodied "Tequipment" hand brake, "Tequipment" chromed and enlarged tail pipe tips, and on-board trip computer with mpg calculator etc. The optional extra codes read as follows: 030, X54, 424, 490, 680, 695, 939, 982, 09991.



Mechanically, this 911 is in wonderful order. The previous owner owned the car for 11 years and it was cared for with a money-no-object approach (works carried out detailed in the "service history" section below) and this shows through the way it drives. The engine is silky smooth and doesn't leak, smoke or make any untoward noises. The six speed manual gearbox goes through its gears beautifully, with a nice light clutch, which was renewed with the flywheel 13,000 miles ago, and the brakes on the car stop it sharply. In relation to the car's handling, this example is an involving drive with an analogue and direct feel for the driver for a number of reasons: It is an early model which means it has cable throttle, it has been specced from the factory without traction control, without a sunroof, and with the M030 sports chassis, which gives stiffer shock absorbers, 10mm lower springs and stiffer anti roll bars. The suspension is all tight thanks to a comprehensive refresh (detailed below) during the previous owner's tenureship (detailed below). 


Service history

This 996 has a superb service record, including a maintenance booklet with 20 service inverval stamps, a folder full of invoices for works completed over the years, all the old MOT certificates, past sales invoices for the car, HPI reports, and even a Porsche magazine with a six page article about this very car.
