Porsche 911 996 Carrera 2 manual, registered 27/09/2001/, 111,027 miles, 12 months MOT, full service history, 5 owners, HPI clear.Intro / exteriorPresented for sale is this lovely looking face-lift Porsche 996, finished in the attractive colour combination of Arctic Silver paint work (colour code L92U) and Metrpol Blue leather interior. This particular example boasts beautifully straight coachwork throughout and paintwork that has a superb finish. There are a few stone chips to the nose and a small mark near the rear wiper, but this doesn't take away from the 911's overall gorgeous appearance. The Porsche benefits from a fully adjustable coil over suspension set up, which doesn't just improve handling, but also allows the ride height to be adjusted to the owner's favoured stance. It is currently set up at around 30mm lower than standard and does not foul on speed bumps etc, but this can be raised or lowered further if desired.
The Porsche sits on it's original, genuine BBS wheels, which are in good condition and are fitted with Pirelli P Zero tyres that are new on the front and have 5mm of tread to the rear.InteriorThe interior to the car is in impressive condition and is a credit to the car's previous owners. The seats have suffered very little wear and certainly don't look almost 19 years old. Everything inside works as Porsche intended for it to do so, inclusive of the electric sun-roof and the air conditioning system. There is an array of optional extras that make this example particularly desirable, for example; alcantara suede headlining, "tequipment" aluminium embodied gear stick with Porsche emblem insert, "tequipment" aluminium embodied handbrake, Bose sound system, white dials, litronic xenon headlights and Porsche Switchable Exhaust (PSE). There are three keys present, two of which are working remote key fobs. The optional extra codes on this car are as follows: C16. X71, X97, X98, 226, 288, 411, 425, 446, 476, 567, 601, 650, 662, 680, 762, 936, 981, 983, 09991.MechanicsMechanically speaking the Porsche is in fantastic shape and has clearly been loved by its owners. As has been noted, we have upgraded the IMS bearing while preparing the car for sale, nullifying this cause for concern. The engine itself is as smooth as can be and there are no leaks, smoking, or tapping noises; just the fantastic sound-track emitted by the factory fitted switchable exhaust system, which we have just refurbished with newly repaired seams, a new clamp fitting kit, new manifold to cat gaskets, new O2 sensors and a new valve. The car has benefitted from new suspension in the way of adjustable coil overs, which make the car feel refreshed and provide brilliant handling ability. In preparation for sale, we have also renewed the engine mounts, so the car's rear end feels taut. We have also renewed the front discs and pads and as such the car stops "on a sixth pence". The 6 speed manual gearbox goes through the gears seamlessly and the clutch is brand new, having also been renewed by us in preparation for sale.
Service history / sale prepThe Porsche comes with a comprehensive service history, which includes the fully stamped maintenance booklet, all the original owners manuals and leather wallets, and a folder of invoices for works completed and MOT certificates etc.
