Intro / exterior
There are not many examples like this one around; this Porsche 987 boasts an incredibly low mileage of 21k, has had just one previous keeper, and is with a very desirable specification. Finished in the uncommon Meteor Grey paint colour (colour code LM7W),with utterly straight, original coach work, and resting on the optional 19" Sport Design Porsche alloy wheels, the Boxster is a real thing of beauty. The soft top roof is also in beautiful condition and the black fabric sits beautifully alongside the metallic grey paint colour, offering a classy looking combination. The car has been treated to our usual FGP detailing process and as such the superb paintwork will be protected for the foreseeable. The wheels are in immaculate, un-marked condition with Michelin Pilot sport tyres fitted to the rear and Avon to the front, both with very good tread life remaining.
The Stone Grey leather interior is in superb order throughout and is a good representation for the ultra-low mileage the car has travelled. The seats are un-worn, the carpets are as new and the door cards and dash are incredibly clean. Everything inside works as it should, including the air conditioning and electric soft top hood. The Boxster has a nice specification, which includes Bose sound system, stainless steel door shuts, rear parking sensors, aluminium look instrument surround and of course the 19" "sport design" alloy wheels and Meteor Grey paint colour. There are two working remote key FOBs with the car. The optional extra codes are as follows: C16, XCL, X70, 245, 407, 424, 502, 551, 567, 573, 635, 680, 810, 981, 983.
The Porsche gets along the road fantastically and is an absolute pleasure to drive. The engine performs beautifully, with a smooth idle and great power all the way through the rev range. There is no smoking, tapping or leaks. The handling is confidence filling in the bends; the steering is tight and there are no funny noises or feelings from the suspension parts. The brakes are sharp and powerful, with the rear discs and pads having been renewed while in with us. The clutch is light with a good feel and the manual gearbox changes smoothly.
Service history / sales prep
The service history is made up of a folder containing paperwork for work completed on the car, MOT certificates, a previous sales invoice, a Porsche certificate of authenticity and of course the original Porsche owners wallet containing the original car manuals and service booklet.
The service intervals completed are as follows: 13/07/2011 - 7,066 miles, 30/04/2014 - 12,343 miles, 30/04/2015 - 13,717 miles, 28/04/2016 - 16,205 miles, 11/04/2017 - 17,369 miles, 16/05/2019 - 19,641 miles, 23/10/2020 - 21,521 miles.
As is stated above, in preparation for sale, we have carried out a service on the car and this was a "major" interval. We have also carried out a brake fluid change, as well as renewed the rear brake discs, pads, backing pads and wear sensors. In addition to this work, last month the car also benefitted from renewal of the O/S/R suspension lower control arm, the front "cross over" coolant pipes, and an air conditioning system re-gas.
