+- INTRO / EXTERIOR

An incredibly rare example of the 996 is offered for sale by Friends Green Porsche. Viola Metallic is one of, if not the most uncommon body colour that was available from the factory and of the 100s of 996s we have had through our workshop, we are yet to see another one in this colour. Accompanied by the factory fitted GT3 aero kit and benefitting from over £17,000-worth of work since 2020, including a full engine rebuild and full suspension overhaul (detailed below), this example is a highly desirable 911. The bodywork is in fine condition, with straight, original panels and no dings or scrapes to note. The paintwork is in nice condition, with the odd minor blemish, but benefitting from a full “front end” (bumper, bonnet, 2x wings) respray with us in preparation for sale to remedy stone chips. The beautiful “Sport Classic” BBS two-piece alloy wheels were factory specified and were refurbished recently, so are without a mark. The headlight faces are in good condition, not suffering from yellow oxidisation and the chromed tail pipe tips are clean.

+- INTERIOR / SPEC

The interior has stood the test of time brilliantly, with no damage or notable marks anywhere. Wear points, such as the steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake are clean and unfaded, the carpets are clean and the dashboard and doorcards are unmarked. At considerable expense, 997 sports seats with hard backs and shoulder supports have been fitted, which are in excellent condition (Note that we offer the hard backings to be finished in a colour of choice and these would look fantastic in Viola Metallic to suit the exterior). The 996 was factory optioned with carbon fibre trims throughout and some of these trims have signs of age, but this doesn’t detract form the overall good condition of the interior. Further optional extras includes Tequipment gear knob and handbrake lever with aluminium embodiment, additional speaker sound package, cruise control, three-prong steering wheel, Sports Classic BBS alloy wheels, M030 sports suspension/chassis. All electrical functions operate correctly, including the cool-blowing air conditioning system and the electric retractable sun-roof. There are two remote key fobs and the original valet key with the Porsche.

+- MECHANICS / DRIVE

With over £17,000-worth of expenditure afforded by the 911’s most recent custodian, it drives and performs as would be expected – perfectly. The engine rebuild was comprehensive, with 6x new cylinder liners, an upgraded EPS cylindrical IMS bearing and all of the other “usual” procedures and part renewals. The traditional 6-speed manual transmission is seamless through all gears and the three-piece clutch and flywheel were renewed during the engine works, resulting in a light clutch pedal with a positive bite and engagement. Stainless steel sports exhaust back boxes and manifolds are installed, which emit a lovely noise, without being overbearing. The 996 is a joy to behold in the corners, having benefitted from almost all of its suspension components renewed, its engine engine mounts renewed and its gearbox bushing. Nearly-new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres are fitted to the front and Pirelli Pzero tyres with over 5mm of tread are at the rear. The brake discs and pads have very little wear, providing superb stopping power.

As part of our pre-sales preparation process, the Porsche has been serviced, had a brake fluid change and will undergo our FGP Comprehensive Inspection & Report, with any subsequent follow-up work completed. As has been noted earlier, £17,000 has been spent on the Porsche by its most recent custodian in the last 3 years. There is a well ordered folder filled to the brim with paperwork, which has far too much to list, but the most notable works include a full engine build with 6x new cylinder liners and an upgraded EPS cylindrical IMS bearing, as well as all of the other processes and component renewals that come with a comprehensive rebuild (invoice available by request). Renewal of all suspension arms, drop links, track rods, anti-roll bar bushes, coil springs, engine mounts and gearbox mounting bush. Renewal of exhaust manifolds and back boxes for stainless steel units.
