+- INTRO / EXTERIOR

This 996 Carrera 4 has just one previous owner from new and is found in stunning overall condition, having had £10,000 worth of work carried out with us in preparation for sale (detailed below and full job sheet available at request). Ocean Blue (colour code L3AZ) is a beautiful colour that appears to change tone under different lights. The bodywork is in fine order, straight along all panels and without any previous repairs. Upon delivery to us, we believe the paintwork to the car to have been original. We have had the front end (front bumper, bonnet, N/S wing, O/S wing) and the rear bumper resprayed to remedy stone chips and minor marks that were present. Following this paintwork and then our customary FGP day’s worth of detailing, the C4 is stunning and a real head turner. The headlights are clear, not suffering noteworthy oxidisation. The original and genuine Porsche BBS “Sport Classic” split wheels present well, with no curb grazes suffered.

+- INTERIOR / SPEC

The Metropol Blue coloured interior sits in perfect harmony with the Ocean Blue exterior. The leather has worn its 18 years well, with no sagging to the seats or notable damage suffered. We have had the steering wheel reupholstered during our sales preparation, so as such, is as new. The carpets, dash, door cards and headlining in the car all present brilliantly and could pass for a car of less miles and years of age. All the electrics inside operate as Porsche intended, including the ice cool air conditioning system, which benefitted from two new condensers on 22/07/2020, and the retractable sunroof. There are two remote key fobs. In terms of optional equipment, the 996 is specified with electric retractable sunroof, on-board computer, electric seats, headlight washer jets, Sport Classic alloy wheels. The optional extra codes are as follows: C16, XRB, 236, 288, 437, 438, 538, 650, 659, 09991.

+- MECHANICS / DRIVE

As noted earlier, £10,000 of preparation works have been completed while in with us (fully detailed below), so mechanically, the Porsche operates and performs just as one would hope of a 911. The 3.4 litre flat six offers great performance and a noise to suit, aided by its stainless steel sports back boxes. As part of our sales preparation process, we have upgraded the IMS bearing for our favoured EPS cylindrical unit, nullifying this area of concern. During this works, we also renewed the rear main oil seal, the three-piece clutch kit, and had the gearbox sent away to be rebuilt with new pinion bearings. The clutch is therefore light beneath the left foot and the gearbox travels between its six speeds smoothly. On the road, the suspension is tight and compliant, with positive steering. The brakes stop the Porsche powerfully, having had the front discs and pads renewed during our preparation process.

+- SERVICE HISTORY / PREP WORK

The car has a strong service history, only ever being taken care of by Porsche main dealer or independent specialist. The original leather owners wallet contains all of the original owners manuals and the maintenance booklet, containing 9 stamped service intervals. A folder filled with paperwork evidences works carried out on the Porsche since it was new, as well as historic MOT certificates and various other miscellaneous documents, including the original bill of sale from Porsche in 1999.

The service intervals completed are as follows: 17/12/1999 – 12,987 miles, 22/01/2001 – 21,926 miles, 04/03/2002 – 27,146 miles, 04/03/2003 – 32,167 miles, 04/03/2004 – 37,303 miles, 15/03/2007 – 46,282 miles, 10/03/2011 – 53,208 miles, 06/07/2020 – 56,994 miles, 27/03/2022 – 60,306 miles.

As part of our sales preparation process, we have carried out the following works: Major service including spark plugs, renew auxiliary drive belt, brake fluid change, renew gearbox oil, renew front differential oil, renew 6x coil packs, upgrade IMS bearing to cylindrical EPS unit, renew rear main oil seal, renew three-piece clutch kit, renew clutch slave cylinder, rebuild gearbox with new pinion bearings, renew coolant expansion tank, renew coolant expansion tank cap, renew water pump, renew 2x front suspension bump stops, renew N/S/F outer C.V boot, renew O/S/F suspension lower control arm, renew number plate plinth, renew oil pressure sender, renew front brake discs, pads, wear sensors and backing shims, renew passenger vanity mirror unit, renew fuel locking rod and guide, renew rear screen seal, unblock scuttle drain holes and clear scuttle area of debris, install jubilee clip mod to steering rack PAS hose ferrule, reupholster steering wheel.
