+- INTRO / EXTERIOR

This Carrera 4S was owned by its previous owner for a decade, during which time, it was cared for meticulously, demonstrated by its exceptional condition, both aesthetically and mechanically. Specified in the sought after manual, coupe, non-sun roof guise, and with all of the usual required 996 maintenance work carried out, including the infamous IMS bearing upgrade, this example is a sought after 911. The coachwork is beautifully clean and straight along all body panels. The paint-work is equally good, having been subject to our customary day’s worth of FGP detailing, eliminating any swirl marks, and protecting the paintwork for the foreseeable. Arctic Silver (colour code L92U) looks fantastic on the 911, contrasting with its black window mouldings and arch liners etc, and therefore exhibiting the beautiful curvature of the 4S’ wide-body. This particular car is a non-sun roof model, offering an uncluttered, sleek roof-line. There are almost no stone chips to the front bumper, having been resprayed recently, the headlights are clear, having not suffered from oxidisation, and the “Turbo style” twin chromed tail pipe tips are in excellent condition. Beneath the Porsche lay its original, unmarked Porsche BBS wide body wheels, through which the large Guards Red brake callipers peer; also found in good presentable condition.

+- INTERIOR / SPEC

The combination of a black leather interior on a silver exterior is a timeless Porsche combination. The condition inside is representative of the low mileage covered. The front seats are fresh, with no sagging or cracks, and generally speaking, the interior feels far younger than its years. All electrical functions operate as they should, inclusive of the air conditioning system. In terms of optional equipment, the Porsche boasts Litronic xenon headlights, park distance control, headlamp washers, alcantara suede headlining, Turbo style tail pipe tips, sun-roof delete. There are four keys with car, two of which are operational remote fobs. The optional extra codes are as follows: C16, 288, 425, 567, 601, 635, 692, 411, 425, 432, 440, 601, 650, 665, 666, 09991.

+- MECHANICS / DRIVE

The mechanical order of the Porsche makes it a credit to its ten year-long custodian. The admired rear mounted flat six is in fine fettle, idling smoothly, revving crisply and exhibiting brilliant performance on the road. As noted earlier, the potentially troublesome IMS bearing has been upgraded, nullifying the threat of failure. The all-important six speed manual transmission passes through all its gears seamlessly and the clutch operation is light with a positive bite, having been renewed, along with the rear main oil seal and flywheel just 7,000 miles ago. The suspension and steering are tight, with a number of components replaced, making for a 911 that possesses joyous handling capabilities. Michelin Pilot Sport tyres are beneath all four corners, which are new on the rear and have 5mm of tread at the front. The large brakes reserved for the 4S and Turbo variants stop the car promptly, with the front discs and pads renewed just 1,500 miles ago.

+- SERVICE HISTORY / PREP WORK

There is an impeccable service history, with all 11 service intervals stamped in the maintenance booklet carried out by Porsche main dealers or Porsche independent specialists.
