Here lays the opportunity to acquire a superb example of the ever increasingly sought after 996 Carrera 4S, in a desirable specification and with important work just completed, including the IMS bearing upgrade. Midnight Blue (colour code L39C) is a classic Porsche colour and presents the wide-body of the C4s beautifully. The coachwork is in brilliant condition, with pin-straight body panels throughout. The paintwork has minimal stone chips or marks and possesses a deep metallic glisten, enhanced and protected by the FGP detailing package that’s been completed. Inside lays a well kept Metrolpol Blue interior, which accompanies the Midnight Blue exterior wonderfully. The leather has stood the test of time well, still appearing fresh 20 years from new. The steering wheel, gear knob, handbrake lever and driver’s seat side bolstering usually suffer wear first, but these areas are clean and present well. The electrical functions operate as intended, inclusive of the retractable electric sunroof and the air conditioning system. Optional equipment specified on the C4S includes: Tequipment handbrake lever and gear knob with aluminium embodiment, heated front seats, Porsche shield embossed headrests, PCM satellite navigation, Bose sound system with subwoofer, 8-way electric seats, silver coloured instrument dial surround, anti-dazzle wing mirrors and rear view mirror with rain sensor, headlamp washers, Litronic xenon lights, electric retractable sunroof. The Carrera 4S drives and sounds as well as it looks. Two years / 3,000 miles ago the 3.6 litre flat six was treated to an IMS bearing upgrade, nullifying this cause for concern. The engine performs just as Porsche intended for it to, idling smoothly, revving freely and producing an addictive sound. The manual gearbox changes through its six speeds smoothly and the clutch is lovely and light, having been renewed 18 months / 3,000 miles ago. The 911 corners flat and is ultra responsive to steering input, with suspension that’s compliant and silent over bumps in the road. The large brakes equipped to the C4S and Turbo variants are in good shape, with lots of life remaining to the discs and pads. Michelin Pilot Sport tyres are fitted to all four corners, with nearly-new tread to the front and XXmm of tread to the rear.

The servicing record is comprehensive, made up of the fully stamped maintenance booklet, with all of the intervals completed by the Porsche main dealer or independent specialists, as well as a folder containing paperwork for previous works invoices, MOT certificates, and other miscellaneous documents, and the original Porsche owners wallet containing the original owners manuals.
