+- INTRO / EXTERIOR

Friends Green Porsche proudly present for sale this stand-out example of the 996 Carrera 4S, which has been lavished with over £18,500-worth of maintenance works over the last 4 years. Silver exterior with a red interior is a classic Porsche combination, harking back to the first Porsche; the 356. The example is in phenomenal condition, with original, untainted coachwork and beautiful Arctic Silver (colour code L92U) paintwork, free from scratches or marks, with minimal stone chips to the nose, and benefitting from FGP’s customary detailing process, including a two-stage machine polish and hand-applied ceramic wax. The nose of the Porsche has recently been resprayed at considerable expense to remedy stone chips, the bonnet badge has been renewed, the headlights have been renewed and the front lower splitter has been renewed, presenting a fabulously fresh front end. The 911 is specified without a sun-roof, presenting an uncluttered roof line. The original wide-body alloy wheels have recently been refurbished and thus are in lovely unmarked order, through which the large Guards Red 4S brake calipers can be seen through, which are in a good, clean condition.

+- INTERIOR / SPEC

The special order black/Boxer Red two-tone interior makes for a special colour combination alongside the Arctic Silver bodywork, reminiscent, as noted above, of the iconic, classic Porsche 356. The condition inside is beautiful, with fresh, undamaged leather throughout and immaculately clean carpets. Every electrical function operates as intended, including the switchable exhaust system and the ice cool air conditioning. The Carrera 4S boasts choice optional equipment, inclusive of the aforementioned PSE (Porsche Sports switchable Exhaust), the aforementioned special order two-tone interior colour, the Tequipment gear knob and handbrake with aluminium embodiment, PCM2 satellite navigation, and Park Distance Control.

+- MECHANICS / DRIVE

The C4S drives and performs as superbly as it looks, which comes as no surprise, having had in excess of £18,500-worth of maintenance works completed to it in the last 4 years (detailed in the below Service History section). As part of our sales preparation process, we have removed the engine and upgraded the infamous IMS bearing to our favoured EPS cylindrical unit. The 3.6 litre flat six itself is in fine order, with a smooth idle, an abundance of power, and an addictive noise from the Porsche switchable Sports Exhaust (PSE), which has recently been renewed at considerable expense. The transmission passes through all gears seamlessly and the brakes have fantastic stopping ability, having had the front discs and pads recently replaced. The suspension and steering are tight and responsive, granting the 911 wonderful handling ability. There is impressive grip and traction provided by the four-wheel drive system and the Bridgestone Potenza tyres, which have XXmm of tread at the front and XXmm at the rear.

+- SERVICE HISTORY / PREP WORK

An admirable servicing record is with the Carrera 4S, with 10 stamps in the maintenance booklet, where 8 intervals were carried out by the Porsche main dealer and 2 are from Porsche independent specialists. A large folder of paperwork details all expenditure afforded to the Porsche, evidencing the £18,500-worth of maintenance completed in the last 4 years.

The service intervals completed are as follows: 03/10/2006 – 7,339 miles, 20/09/2007 – 10,451 miles, 16/09/2008 – 13,288 miles, 01/09/2009 – 17,047 miles, 21/07/2011 – 21,404 miles, 12/09/2017 – 31,782 miles, 30/09/2019 – 41,005 miles, 25/03/2021 – 48,977 miles, 25/07/2022 – 52,844 miles, 14/06/2023 – 54,250 miles.

As detailed above, we have just completed a service to the car, as well as a brake fluid change in preparation for sale. We have also removed the engine to upgrade the IMS bearing to the EPS cylindrical unit. Further works, making up some of the £18,500-worth of maintenance completed in the last 4 years, includes: Respray front end of vehicle, renew bonnet badge, renew front bumper lower splitter, renew 2x headlight units, refurbish 4x alloy wheels, renew auxiliary drive belt, renew 6x coil packs, renew PAS pipe, renew various brake pipes, renew 2x coolant radiators and various hoses, renew 2x Porsche Sports Exhaust back boxes and associated clamps and fixings, renew oil pressure sender, renew various under-body trays and arch liners, renew steering lock, renew cup holder unit.
