+- INTRO / EXTERIOR

Here lays the opportunity to acquire a superb example of the ever increasingly sought after 996 Carrera 4S, in a desirable specification and with important work just completed, including the IMS bearing upgrade. Arctic Silver on a black leather interior is a timeless colour combination that suits the wide-bodied Carrera 4S beautifully. The coachwork is in brilliant condition, with pin-straight body panels throughout, and the Arctic Silver paintwork (colour code L92U) is in equally nice order with a deep metallic glisten, enhanced and protected by the customary day’s worth of detailing that its benefitted from while in with us. The 911 is a non-sun roof model, offering a clean, sleek looking roof-line. Beneath the Porsche lay its original, optional Porsche “Sport Techno” alloy wheels, which are light weight variants, not found on the C4S very often. The alloys are in lovely condition and the tyres fitted are Falkerns with good tread life.

+- INTERIOR / SPEC

Inside lays a beautiful black leather interior, with all the usual wear-points having suffered minimal wear, inclusive of areas such as the driver’s side bolster, steering wheel, door handles, handbrake etc. The C4S has been thoughtfully specified with regard to its optional extras, which includes the Turbo stitched steering wheel, Bose sound system, “Tequipment” aluminium embodied hand brake and gear stick, non-sun roof option, “Sport Techno” light weight alloys, and most significantly, the incredibly rare X73 sports suspension package (detailed below). The electrical functions inside all function as they should, including the ice-cool air conditioning system. The optional extra codes read as follows: XLF, X54, X73, X97, X98, 425, 567, 680, 09991.

+- MECHANICS / DRIVE

The Carrera 4S drives and sounds as well as it looks. Two years / 7,000 miles ago the 3.6 litre flat six was treated to an IMS bearing upgrade, nullifying this cause for concern. The engine performs just as Porsche intended for it to, idling smoothly, revving freely and producing an addictive sound through the stainless sports back boxes that we’ve just fitted during our preparation process. The manual gearbox changes through its six speeds smoothly and the clutch is lovely and light, having been renewed 18 months / 5,000 miles ago. This particular C4S possesses the very rare and highly desirable X73 sports suspension package, which not only lowers the ride height by 20mm, but also stiffen the chassis. The result is a 911 that corners flat and is ultra responsive to steering input. The suspension itself is in brilliant order, having had an array of components renewed recently (detailed below). The large Turbo brakes are in good shape, with new EBC Yellow Stuff performance brake pads fitted to all four corners within the last two years / 3,000 miles ago.
