+- INTRO / EXTERIOR

Here we have a gorgeous looking wide bodied 996 Carrera 4S in a very popular guise: A coupe non-sun roof car, possessing a manual transmission, and found in the “black-on-black” colour combination. Notably, this example also benefits from having a full “Hartech” engine rebuild (detailed below), and has been pampered with £30,000-worth of maintenance within the last 10 years / 13,000 miles. The coachwork is beautifully straight throughout with no dings or dents to take away from the fantastic curves of the wide body. The Basalt Black (colour code LC9Z) paintwork has an eye catching glossy finish and is without scratches or damage. There are some very minor stone chips to the nose of the car, but this is all in the way of imperfections. The Porsche has been subject to our usual FGP full day’s detailing, so the car is free from any swirl marks and the paintwork is protected. The original wide body turbo alloy wheels are on the car, which are in very good condition.

+- INTERIOR / SPEC

The black leather interior has worn its years superbly with the normal wear points such as the driver’s side bolstering and the steering wheel showing only modest wear. Areas such as the headlining, carpets and door cards look fresh and unworn, and all of the leather inside is supple and clean. Everything inside works as Porsche intended for it to, including the air conditioning system, which had pipework renewed and a system re-gas very recently. The fantastic PCCM+ unit made by Porsche has been fitted, offering the up to date in car entertainment, with Apple Car Play, DAB radio, bluetooth connectivity etc. There is an array of desirable optional extras specified with the car, including; alcantara suede headlining, Litronic xenon headlights, sports hard back seats, seat heating, Porsche emblem crested head-rests, “Tequipment” aluminium embodied hand-brake and gearstick, aluminium-look instrument dials. There are two operational remote key fobs with the car. The optional extra codes read as follows: C16, XSC, X71, X97, X98, 139, 288, 340, 375, 376, 425, 539, 540, 567, 601, 09991, 09971, 09991.

+- MECHANICS / DRIVE

This Carrera 4S has been cared for fastidiously, with maintenance work and renewal of parts carried out in all of the right areas in the last few years (largely detailed in the Service History section below). The engine has been subject to a fill rebuild, carried out by Porsche engine rebuilding specialists “Hartech” 13,000 miles ago, including 3x new cylinder liners and an upgraded IMS bearing. The 3.6 litre flat six mounted to the rear performs brilliantly and sounds gorgeous, having had stainless steel sports exhaust back boxes fitted. The clutch is light with a good feel to the biting point, and the manual gear box shifts through the six gears smoothly. We have renewed the front brake discs and pads as part of our sales preparation, and the rear axle had the same treatment just miles ago, so stop the car powerfully. The handling of the Porsche is beautiful, with positive steering and drum-tight suspension, thanks to the renewal of almost all of its suspension components within the last 15,000 miles  (detailed in the service history section below).
