+- INTRO / EXTERIOR

In the manual, coupe, rear wheel driven guise, and with factory fitted GT3 aero kit; this example is of a specification that is popular amongst the enthusiasts. This particular car, is one that we first sold three years ago, and are proud to have back into our stock. The Porsche’s exterior is in exceptional standing, with straight body panels, free from any previous repairs. Arctic Silver (colour code L92U) looks fabulous on a 911, exhibiting its iconic shape beautifully. The finish of the paintwork is untainted, with a deep metallic shine, benefitting from our customary day’s worth of FGP detailing. There are some minor stone chips to the nose, but this doesn’t detract from the stunning appearance of the Porsche. The optional, enlarged and chromed “Tequipment” tail pipe tips are fitting company to the GT3 aero kit. The original Porsche BBS two-piece split GT3 alloy wheels are in nice condition, with some minor signs of age. The rear parking sensors are a useful feature, but can be removed and the rear bumper “smoothed”, if not to a prospective buyer’s taste.

+- INTERIOR / SPEC

A Metropol Blue interior, beside an Arctic Silver exterior presents a classy looking combination. There is very little wear inside, even to the most used points such as driver’s side bolstering, steering wheel and gear knob. The steering wheel is the optional three-pronged wheel, and there are other admired options equipped, such as 8-way electric seats, alcantara suede head lining, Tequipment tail pipe tips, and of course the GT3 aero kit. The electrical functions all operate as intended, including the retractable electric sun-roof and the air conditioning system, which has just had its front to rear high pressure pipe seal renewed and a system re-gas as part of our sales process. There are two remote key fobs. The optional extra codes for the Porsche list as follows: C16, XAA, X54, 236, 413, 424, 425, 436, 437, 438, 446, 513, 538, 567, 635, 650, 659, 689, 695, 936, 981, 983, 09981, 09991.

+- MECHANICS / DRIVE

The famous flat six housed at the rear of the 911 is in perfect order, with a smooth idle, impressive performance and a lovely note emitted through the stainless steel sports back boxes that were installed 1,500 miles / 18 months ago. Upon our first sale of the Porsche 4,000 miles / 3 years ago, we upgraded the IMS bearing for our favoured EPS cylindrical unit, nullifying the IMS concerns. At this time, we also renewed the clutch, meaning a light left pedal assists the manual transmission through its six gears. During our preparation process, we have carried out a fairly comprehensive suspension refresh (detailed below). As a result, the 996 offers well poised handling through corners and general confidence to the driver behind the wheel. We have also just fitted four new Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres, granting excellent grip and traction, as well as renewing the brake discs and pads in all four corners.
