Friends Green Porsche offer for sale this uncommonly specified example of the generation 2 Porsche 997, which has just benefitted from over £5,500-worth of work during our sales preparation process, refreshing all of the components that are becoming worn on the 997.2 at this age (detailed below). With its wide-body haunched rear arches, rear engine lid reflector strip and lower side skirts, the Carrera 4S variant of the 997.2 is a highly attractive sports car, which differentiate itself from the “standard” Carrera variants. The Carrara White (colour code LB9A) paint looks clean and crisp on the 911, putting emphasis on the 911’s beautiful curved body-shape. The coachwork itself is in lovely condition, with straight body panels, and a deep, glossy paint finish, benefitting from our customary detailing process. The optional 19″ Turbo alloy wheels are a gorgeous addition, and have just been professionally refurbished as part of our preparation process, in their original diamond cut and grey finish. The headlights are clear and free from oxidisation, and the soft top convertible hood is clean and undamaged.

The timeless black leather interior filling the cockpit is a crisp contrast to the white exterior and is found in nice condition. The optional sport hard back seats with shoulder supports present well, with supple leather and only minor wear to the driver’s side bolstering. The touch points, such as the steering wheel, gear shifter and handbrake are unworn, and the dashboard and carpets are clean. All electrical operations work as they should, such as the retractable convertible roof and the air conditioning system, which has just had its air conditioning condensers and pipework renewed, followed by a system re-charge, during our preparation process. An array of optional extras are equipped, including the aforementioned sports hard back seat with shoulder supports, front seat heating, Sports Chrono Plus package, Bose sound system, Park Distance Control, cruise control, multimedia interface, Turbo alloy wheels, as well as all of the usual Carrera S/4S equipment, such as silver backed instrument dials and xenon lights. There are two operational remote key fobs with the Porsche.

Having undergone a £5,500 refresh during our sales preparation process, the Carrera 4S is in faultless mechanical condition and has a fresh bill of health, ready for its new owner. The DFI 3.8 litre flat six is in perfect health, having just benefitted from its major service interval with us, including renewal of spark plugs. The dual clutch PDK gearbox goes through its 7 speeds seamlessly, benefitting from its 12 year service interval while with us. We have refreshed the front suspension, with new shock absorbers, top mounts, top bearings and bump stops, and as such, the handling and steering is razor sharp. Bridgestone Potenza tyres with 6mm of tread are at the front, and GoodYear tyres with 7mm of tread are to the rear. The larger brakes provided on the 4S are new on the front axle and nearly new to the rear, offering punctual stopping ability. The optional Sports Chrono Plus package is a must-have option, offering a comfortable and compliant ride and drive in “normal” mode, and a sharper, more poised drive when “sports” and “sports plus” modes are selected, with firmer suspension provided by the PASM shock absorbers, a sharper throttle response, and sharper gear changes.

A full service record is with the Porsche, with all intervals completed at the Porsche main dealer or independent Porsche specialists. All of the original owners manuals are present and contained within the original Porsche leather wallet. The maintenance booklet shows the following intervals as completed:

In addition, as part of our sales preparation process, we have carried out the following: Brake fluid change, 12 year PDK service interval, renew 4x coil pack heat shields, renew 2x air conditioning condensers, renew front to rear low pressure air conditioning pipe, re-gas air conditioning system, renew 2x front shock absorbers, renew 2x front suspension top mounts, 2x top bearings, 2x bump stops, and 2x dust bellows, renew 2x front brake discs, renew N/S/F outer C.V boot, clean and lubricate spoiler drives, clean and lubricate convertible roof mechanisms, renew fuel cap and retaining strap, clear bulk head and drain holes, clear 2x front air ducts, renew O/S centre coolant pipe connection piece, renew all manifold to catalytic converter triangular flange fixing bolts, refurbish 4x alloy wheels.
