WALK-AROUND-VIDEO

+- INTRO / EXTERIOR

An outstanding example of the fantastic Carrera GTS variant of the 997. The coachwork of this example is superb, with pin-straight, original body panels and untainted paintwork. The GTS is built around the wide-track of the Carrera 4S, Turbo, GT2 and GT3RS models, which means it also boasts the wide-body with beautiful haunched rear arches. The Carrara White paint (colour code LB9A) shows the classic 911 curvature crisply and cleanly, contrasting beautifully with the black details on the car’s exterior, such as the lower stone guards, front splitter, side skirts, and the original GTS centre lock wheels, which are found in pristine condition. Our customary FGP day’s worth of detailing has been completed, which not only presents the Porsche in its best light, but will protect the wonderful condition of the exterior for the foreseeable.

+- INTERIOR / SPEC

There was the factory choice of a leather or an alcantara finish to the seat centre panels, steering wheel, and hand-brake on the GTS, and the alcantara finish selected on this example definitely makes for the more special place to be. The condition of the interior is exquisite, with very few signs of wear. The GTS comes with a list of desirable equipment, some as standard on a GTS model, and some as optional extras. To name but a few of these features, it includes; Sports Chrono Plus package, Porsche Switchable Exhaust (PSE), sports steering wheel, sports seats, stainless “GTS” door entry guards, body-coloured centre console, alcantara head-lining, seat centre panels, steering wheel, and gear stick, auto dimming mirror, cruise control, park distance control. Everything inside works as Porsche intended, including the air conditioning system, which we have just renewed the air conditioning condensers on and re-gassed the system, in preparation for sale. There are two remote key fobs with the car and the specification codes read as follows: C16, 025, 183, 250, 267, 268, 335, 425, 454, 567, 610, 621, 635, 640, 666.

+- MECHANICS / DRIVE

The 3.8 litre rear mounted engine found in the GTS differentiates itself from the Carrera and Carrera S, by coming equipped as standard with the X51 power kit, improving power from 385hp to 408hp. The result is of course better acceleration, but also a more alert feeling car, through a more responsive throttle. The PDK transmission goes through its gears smoothly when in normal mode, but offers an aggressive and sharp change when Sport or Sports Plus mode is active. The brakes are in good condition, with the rear discs and pads renewed by us as part of our preparation process. The steering is sharp and responsive, and the hydraulic steering, which is the last in the 911 generations, gives brilliant feel and feedback. The Porsche rests on Bridgestone Potenza N rated tyres, with 6mm of tread to the front and 5mm to the rear.

+- SERVICE HISTORY / PREP WORK

A perfect servicing record is with the Porsche, which details how it has only ever been cared for by the Porsche main dealer, but for the last service interval, which was a “major” interval with spark plugs, carried out at “Ashgood” independent Porsche specialists. As well as the fully stamped maintenance booklet and all the original owners manuals, there is also a folder filled to the brim with paperwork relating to works completed, the Porsche extended warranty the car was very recently covered under, A Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, the official spec sheet, previous sales invoices, historic MOT certificates, and more.

The service intervals completed are as follows: 09/04/2013 – 13,473 miles, 15/05/2015 – 27,211 miles, 19/05/2017 – 38,043 miles, 04/06/2019 – 51,142 miles, 06/09/2021 – 57,457 miles.

As part of our preparation process we carried out the following: Renewal of 2x air conditioning condensers, re-gas of air conditioning system, renewal of rear brake discs and pads, and renewal of tandem pump.
