WALK-AROUND-VIDEO

+- INTRO / EXTERIOR

A sublime example of the generation 2 Porsche 997, in the desirable, and rare manual, coupe guise. The coachwork is in superb condition, with beautifully straight and original body panels, and Basalt Black (colour code LC9Z) paintwork that is without any scratches or damage, and has a flawless finish, largely thanks to the FGP day’s worth of detailing that has been completed in preparation for sale. The 911 was specced from new with the optional extra “Sport Design” multi-spoke alloy wheels, which are in beautiful condition.

+- INTERIOR / SPEC

The stone grey leather interior is also in beautiful order and contrasts with the black exterior beautifully. The leather seats are virtually as-new, much like the carpets, door cards, and dashboard, which all show minimal signs of use. Every electrical function works as it should, which is inclusive of the ice-cool air conditioning. In terms of optional equipment, the Porsche boasts park distance control, acoustic package, Bose sound system, front seat heating, Sports Chrono package, and electric sun-roof, as well as all the usual 997 generation 2 equipment, such as the litronic xenon headlights, PCM3 satellite navigation, alcantara headlining. There are two remote key fobs with the car.

+- MECHANICS / DRIVE

The mechanical condition and drive of the 911 is second-to-none. The 3.6 litre DFI engine provided with the generation 2 997 performs just as it should, with a spritely start-up, smooth idle, and oodles of performance. Married to the flat 6 is a traditional six speed manual transmission, which is an uncommon, but welcome feature. The gears are travelled through seamlessly, and the clutch is light with a positive engagement, having just been renewed by us in preparation for sale. The handling ability is outstanding, with Pirelli Pzero tyres, with 6mm of tread at the front and 7mm of tread to the rear, providing great traction, and the suspension is as tight as could be, having had an array of its components renewed during our preparation process (detailed below). The brakes are all in good condition with lots of life remaining, stopping the car powerfully.

+- SERVICE HISTORY / PREP WORK

There is a full and comprehensive servicing record with the 997, evidencing that it has only ever been cared for by the Porsche main dealer, and was covered under their extended warranty until very recently. Present is a folder brimmed with paperwork for works invoices, Porsche warranty paperwork and historic MOT certificates etc, as well as the original Porsche leather owners wallet, with all of the original manuals and the original maintenance booklet present. The service intervals completed are as follows:

20/09/2010 – 8,992 miles, 24/04/2012 – 23,197 miles, 28/04/2014 – 29,030 miles, 13/05/2016 – 18/01/2018 – 44,098 miles, 31/01/2020 – 50,220 miles, 01/12/2021 – 51,197 miles.

As noted, we have just carried out a service on the car, as well as a brake fluid change. In addition to this, in preparation for sale, we have completed the following: Renewal of cap, renewal of “Carrera” deck lid badge, renewal of front bumper rubber splitter, renewal of 2x front suspension top mount, renewal of 2x front suspension top bearing, renewal of 2x front suspension bump stop, renewal of O/S inner track rod, renewal of 2x rear suspension lower control arm, renewal of front “cross over” coolant pipes, renewal of front to rear low pressure air con pipe seal, re-gas of air conditioning system, renewal of tandem pump, and a four-wheel alignment.
