+- INTRO / EXTERIOR

Is there anything more iconic than a Guards Red Porsche 911 when it comes to the automotive world? Unfortunately, Guards Red (paint colour code L84A) is a rarity on this year of 911, which makes this second generation 997 a desirable find. The coachwork is in superb condition, with beautifully straight and original body panels, and paintwork that is without any scratches or damage, and has a flawless finish, largely thanks to the FGP comprehensive detailing package that’s been completed in preparation for sale. This Carrera benefits from optional PASM suspension, which lowers the car by 10mm to the same ride height as the Carrera S variant. 19″ Carrera S alloy wheels were also specified from new, which are in beautifully clean condition. As a non-sun roof, non-rear wiper model, the roof line is uncluttered and sleek looking. The headlight faces are beautifully clear and the chrome of the tail pipe tips is clean.

+- INTERIOR / SPEC

A black leather interior is a classy compliment to the Guards Red exterior. The leather is in fine order throughout and makes for a pleasant place to be. The usual wear points, such as steering wheel, hand brake and driver’s seat side bolstering are present cleanly, with only minor cracking to the latter. All electrical functions operate as intended, inclusive of the ice-cool air conditioning. In terms of optional equipment, the Porsche boasts park distance control, multi-function steering wheel, steering wheel heating, seat heating, sports hard-back seat with shoulder supports, Porsche crest embossed headrests, PASM suspension, universal multimedia interface. The usual 997.2 equipment is of course also with the car, such as the litronic xenon headlights, PCM3 satellite navigation, and alcantara headlining. There are two remote key fobs with the car.

+- MECHANICS / DRIVE

The mechanical condition and drive of the 911 is second-to-none. The 3.6 litre DFI engine provided with the generation 2 997 performs just as it should, with a spritely start-up, smooth idle, and oodles of performance. Married to the flat 6 is the 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission, which passes through the gears seamlessly. The suspension is in fine fettle; compliant and civilised when PASM is in “normal” mode, and sharp and responsive when “sport” mode is activated. Excellent grip and traction is provided by Bridgestone Potenza tyres, with XXmm of tread at the front and XXmm of tread to the rear. The brakes are all in good condition with lots of life remaining, stopping the car powerfully.

+- SERVICE HISTORY / PREP WORK

There is a full and comprehensive servicing record with the 997, including a folder with paperwork for works invoices, and historic MOT certificates and other miscellaneous documentation. The original Porsche leather wallet is also present, containing the original owners manuals and the original maintenance booklet present, evidencing 11 service intervals completed, detailed as follows:

02/12/2009 – 18,885 miles, 07/11/2011 – 40,867 miles, 01/03/2012 – 43,424 miles, 26/02/2014 – 48,340 miles, 05/02/2016 – 54,537 miles, 09/11/2017 – 60,121 miles, 17/10/2018 – 61,852 miles, 15/10/2019 – 63,840 miles, 02/12/2020 – 65,440 miles, 18/10/2021 – 67,435 miles, 26/02/2023 – 70,257 miles.

As noted, we will be carrying out a service, as well as a brake fluid change prior to sale.
