Friends Green Porsche proudly present for sale this fabulous generation 2 997 Carrera S, in the convertible, PDK semi automatic transmission guise. The aesthetics of the 911 are superb, with beautifully straight coachwork, free from previous repairs. The Basalt Black Metallic (colour code LC9Z) paintwork is equally nice, free from scratches and benefitting from our customary FGP day’s worth of detailing, eliminating any swirl marks and protecting its condition for the foreseeable. The headlight faces are crystal clear and the matching black soft top hood is clean and undamaged. The striking Guards Red brake callipers are in lovely order, seen through the original and genuine Carrera S 2 alloy wheels, which are pristine, having been refurbished while in with us.

The matching black leather interior has some favourable optional equipment and is found in excellent condition. The front seats present well, with only minor wear to the driver’s side bolstering, and are of the configuration that possesses both heating and cooling functions, as well as 8-way electric movement, lumbar adjustment, and memory positioning. The steering wheel is unworn and has the added bonus of built-in controls for the PCM unit, which is another choice optional extra. Areas often worn, such as carpets, door cards and dashboard are all in fantastic condition and everything electrical operates as it should, including the retractable soft top roof, and the air conditioning system, benefitting from a system re-gas while in with us. Further optional extras selected with the 997 include Bose sound system with built in sub-woofer, rear parking sensors, automatic dimming rear view mirror, rain sensor, as well as all the usual gen 2 Carrera S features, including silver back dial binnacles, PASM suspension, Litronic xenon headlights, universal multimedia interface, PCM3, headlight washers.

The car drives and performs just as one would want one from a 911, with a faultless 3.8 litre flat, offering stunning performance and an intoxicating sound-track to suit. The impressive dual clutch PDK gearbox exhibits instantaneous, smooth gear changes between the transmission’s 7 speeds, and the enlarged brakes reserved for the S model stop the car powerfully, having just been fitted with new discs and pads to the front. The handling ability is excellent, with a refined ride in “normal” mode, and a more sporty, sharp ride when PASM sport mode is activated. The suspension and steering are tight and responsive, having had a sizeable proportion of their components renewed recently (detailed in the below Service History / Sales Prep section). Bridgestone Potenza tyres are fitted, with at least 4.5mm of tread to the front and 3.0mm to the rear.

A sizeable servicing history is present, compiled of the original maintenance booklet, with 6 service intervals completed, as well as the Porsche leather owners wallet, filled with the original owners manuals, and a folder of paperwork for works carried out, historic MOT certificates and other miscellaneous documents. The service intervals stamped are as follows:

10/05/2010 – 29,684 miles, 26/04/2012 – 45,242 miles, 19/12/2012 – 49,121 miles, 25/06/2014 – 57,937 miles, 17/05/2016 – 69,505 miles, 12/05/2022 – 77,148 miles.

Please note, there is evidence in the paperwork of servicing work within the last two stamped intervals, but not an accompanying stamp in the maintenance booklet. As part of our sales preparation we have completed the following: Major service including renewal of spark plugs, brake fluid change, MOT, renew OS headlight washer jet, re-gas air conditioning system, flush and renew coolant, refurbish 4x alloy wheels, renew OSF shock absorber, renew NS inner track rod, renew “cross over” coolant pipes.
