+- INTRO / EXTERIOR

A wonderfully kept example of the second generation 997, found in exceptional condition, having only ever been cared for by the Porsche main dealer, and having just undergone over £5,000-worth of refresh works with us, as part of our sales preparation process. Finished in the rare Guards Red (colour code L84A), with contrasting black soft top hood, black leather interior and original silver Carrera S 2 alloy wheels, the 911 is a head turner, that stands out amongst its peers. The Porsche’s bodywork is in exceptional order, with its beautiful curvature free from damage and absolutely straight across all panels. Guards Red is an iconic Porsche 911 colour and suits its beautiful body shape to a tee. The condition of the paintwork is fabulous, benefitting from our customary day’s worth of detailing, leaving the finish swirl mark-free and with an untainted deep gloss. The soft top hood is clean and without wear, the headlights are clean and clear, and the original 19″ Carrera S alloy wheels are without a mark.

+- INTERIOR / SPEC

Within the cabin, the black leather interior sits beautifully, having suffered minimal wear and possessing admired optional extras. Heavily used areas, such as the steering wheel, handbrake and driver’s side bolstering are all in beautifully clean condition. More lightly used areas, such as the dashboard, door-cards and carpets, are unworn and evidence how gently the 911 has been used. This example boasts the special order body-coloured lower centre console, and special order Guards Red seat belts, which lift the interior and tie in superbly with the Guards Red exterior. Other optional equipment specified includes the cooled and heated front seats, the Porsche crested head-rests, Sports Plus Chrono package, xenon plus dynamic cornering, multi-function steering wheel, and Bose sound package. The electric soft top hood operates as it should, retracting at the touch of a button, and the air conditioning system is ice-cool, having had both condensers renewed and the system re-gassed during our sales preparation process. The option codes read as follows: XME, XSC, XSX, 026, 250, 342, 345, 446, 541, 567, 603, 610, 621, 635.

+- MECHANICS / DRIVE

The 911 is in superb mechanic shape, having only ever been maintained within the Porsche main dealer, and having benefitted from over £5,000-worth of refresh work, as part of our sales preparation process (detailed below). The redesigned DFI engine operates and performs just as it did the day it left Stuttgart, the PDK gearbox is silky smooth through its 7 gears, and yet sharp and responsive, particularly when sports and sport plus modes are activated. Sports Chrono Plus is an excellent option, offering not just a more aggressive gear change, but a shaper throttle response and stiffer suspension at the click of the button. Deactivate the sports modes, and the 997 returns to a mundane and comfortable driving character. The suspension is tight and quiet along bumpy British roads, and the steering is sharp with a positive response to steering inputs, thanks to the front suspension receiving an overhaul with us (detailed below). Michelin Pilot Sport tyres are fitted in all four corners, with lots of tread life remaining, offering great grip and traction. Further works completed while with us includes renewing all the brake discs and pads, resulting in a 911 that has exceptional stopping ability.
