WALK-AROUND-VIDEO

+- INTRO / EXTERIOR

A superb example of a second generation 997, which we first sold two years / 3,500 miles ago and now proudly present for sale once more. This Carrera S is in the desirable coupe, non-sun roof guise and with dual clutch PDK gearbox. With fantastically straight bodywork and immaculate Carrara White (colour code LB9A) paintwork, the 911 is a thing of beauty. In preparation for sale, we have removed the front bumper and had it resprayed to remedy stone chips. We have also carried out our customary FGP detailing process, eliminating any swirl marks and presenting a protected glossy finish. Upon our first sale of the 997, we had the original Carrera S 2 alloy wheels refurbished in Satin black and installed the satin black rear quarter panel stone guards, which make for a nice contrast against the crisp white paintwork. The large “S” brake calipers present well with the Guards Red paintwork in nice condition. The headlight faces are crystal clear and the stainless tail pipe tips are clean.

+- INTERIOR / SPEC

The black leather interior sits beautifully along side the white exterior and is found in wonderful condition throughout. The superb condition of the leather exhibits just how well the car has been kept, with no noteworthy wear, even to highly used areas such as the driver’s side bolstering, handbrake and gear shifter. The carpets, door cards and dash board are lovely and clean and all of the electrical functions operate as Porsche intended, including the air conditioning, which blows ice cool, thanks to the new condensers we fitted upon first sale. We also retrofitted the admired Sports Design steering wheel with PDK “flappy paddle” shifters, which is a considerably costly, but rewarding upgrade. A further enhancement we’ve afforded the Porsche, is to remove, strip and paint the centre lower console in colour-coded Carrara White. Option equipment specified from new include Park Distance Control, heated front seats, and multimedia interface. There are two remote key fobs with the car.

+- MECHANICS / DRIVE

The 911’s mechanical condition is on a par with its aesthetics. The rear mounted 3.8 litre flat six possesses blistering performance with a soundtrack to match. The PDK gearbox glides through its seven speeds and is brilliantly responsive when operated with the engaging and intuitive “flappy paddle” shifters at the back of the Sports Design steering wheel. The handling lives up to the 911’s legendary reputation, with razor sharp steering and fantastic grip. The suspension is in fine health, silent over bumps and offering dampening as required for the questionable condition of English roads. At the click of a button, PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) can be activated, which firms up the ride and reduces body roll. Continental Sport Contact tyres are fitted, which are nearly-new at the front and with lots of tread to the rear. The brake discs and pads to all four corners have covered just 3,500 miles, providing the braking system with powerful stopping ability.

+- SERVICE HISTORY / PREP WORK

A full servicing record is with the Porsche, evidencing how it’s only ever been cared for by the Porsche main dealer or Porsche independent specialists. There’s a folder containing invoicing for previous works completed, historic MOTs and miscellaneous documents, as well as the original leather owners wallet containing all the original owners manuals, and the maintenance booklet demonstrating the following intervals completed:

28/04/2011 – 16,171 miles, 29/05/2013 – 34,038 miles, 07/08/2015 – 51,769 miles, 20/11/2017 – 66,563 miles, 14/06/2021 – 74,658 miles, 05/11/2023 – 78,066 miles.

In preparation of sale, we have completed a service, a brake fluid change and MOT, as well as removing and respraying the front bumper, removing and refurbishing the the centre lower interior console in body colour and renewing the O/S/R tail lamp unit.

Upon our first sale of the 997, 2 years / 3,500 miles ago, we completed the following: Major service interval including renewal of spark plugs, renewal of coil pack heat shields and O2 sensor heat shields, renewal of 6x coil packs, brake fluid change, renewal of wiper blades, refurbishment of 4x alloy wheels, renewal of 2x front tyres, renewal of all 4x brake discs and pads, renewal of 2x air conditioning condensers, re-gas of air conditioning system.
