WALK-AROUND-VIDEO

+- INTRO / EXTERIOR

A superb example of the desirable generation 2 997 Carrera S in coupe, non-sun roof guise and with dual clutch PDK gearbox. With fantastically straight bodywork and immaculate Basalt Black Metallic (colour code LC9Z) paintwork, the 911 is a thing of beauty. There are very few imperfections to be found to the aesthetics of the Porsche, with hardly a stone chip to note. Our customary day’s worth of FGP detailing has been carried out, eliminating any swirl marks and presenting a protected glossy finish. The original Carrera S 2 alloy wheels are in nice condition, the Guards Red brake callipers are beautiful and the headlight faces are crystal clear.

+- INTERIOR / SPEC

The black leather interior sits beautifully inside the cabin, boasting a wonderful condition and an array of optional extras. The leather throughout is in supple condition and the optional sports hard back seats present impressively, with no cracks, sagging or noteworthy wear. The carpets, door cards and dash board are lovely and clean and all of the electrical functions operate as Porsche intended, including the air conditioning, which blows ice cool. Desirable options specified with the 997 includes Sports Chrono Plug package, Park Distance Control, Xenon Plus Dynamic Cornering, multi-function steering wheel, front seat heating, sports hard-back seats with shoulder supports, Bose sound package, universal multimedia interface. There are two remote key fobs with the car.

+- MECHANICS / DRIVE

Mechanically the 911 is outstanding, with a flawless DFI 3.8 litre flat six mounted at the rear, married to a silky smooth PDK gearbox. Sports Chrono Plus is an excellent option, offering a significant change in the driving characteristic at the click of a button. In “normal”, the drive is mundane and comfortable, but in sports and sports plus, the 911 becomes a lively sports car, with its dampeners becoming firmer and its throttle response and PDK gear change sharper. The handling is superb, having just had its suspension overhauled, including 4x new shock absorbers and top mounts, and 2x new inner and outer track rods, followed by a four-wheel alignment. Michelin Pilot Sport tyres are fitted in all four corners, with lots of tread life remaining, offering great grip and traction. The brake discs and pads all also have significant life left and stop the car confidently.

+- SERVICE HISTORY / PREP WORK

A full servicing record is with the Porsche, evidencing how its only ever been cared for by the Porsche main dealer or Porsche independent specialists. A folder containing invoicing for previous works completed, historic MOTs and miscellaneous documents is present, as well as the original leather owners wallet containing all the original owners manuals, and the maintenance booklet demonstrating the following intervals completed:

01/07/2010 – 20,520 miles, 25/07/2012 – 34,339 miles, 17/06/2014 – 39,006 miles, 13/06/2016 – 54,638 miles, 06/06/2018 – 66,256 miles, 05/01/2022 – 73,300 miles.

The last service interval was carried out by “Nine Excellence” and was a “major” interval including renewal of the spark plugs and renewal of the brake fluid. A lengthy list of other works was carried out at this time, tallying a total of £7,000. These works includes: Renewal of the coolant expansion tank, renewal of 2x rear light units, renewal of 4x PASM shock absorbers and top mounts, renew of 2x inner track rods, renewal of 2x track rod ends, renewal of driver’s window switch, renewal of wheel bolt set, renew of front to rear low pressure air conditioning pipe, re-gas air conditioning system, renewal of exhaust system fixings and gaskets, renewal of 4x coil pack heat shields.
