Friends Green Porsche offer for sale this outstanding example of the 997 Carrera 4S. The car is in immaculate condition throughout, having been lavished by its previous owners, who have attended to all of the typical 997 mechanically-required works (detailed in the below sections), as well as maintaining its aesthetics pristinely. Finished in the eloquent Seal Grey (colour code L6B4) body colour, resting on original Turbo alloy wheels and boasting the 4S wide-body with haunched rear arches, the Porsche is a stunning looking sports car. The paintwork is in phenomenal order, with no marks or dings and very few stone chips. Our customary FGP Comprehensive Detailing Package has been carried out, presenting the 4S in its best light and helping the next custodian maintain this for the foreseeable. The Guards Red brake calipers are in good order and make for a nice accent seen through the immaculate Turbo alloy wheels. To the rear, the twin exit tail pipe tips are clean and unmarked. This example boasts the retractable sun-roof, which was an optional extra on the 997 generation.

+- INTERIOR / SPEC

Inside the cabin, a timeless black leather interior awaits, completing the classy looking nature of this Carrera 4S. Everything is found in a lovely condition, with supple, well cared for leather seats and touch points that have faired the test of time brilliantly well. Areas that often show signs of age in the 997s, such as centre lower console, climate control units switches and PCM rotary knobs, are in excellent condition and are a testament to how the vehicle has been cared for by proud previous keepers. Desirable optional equipment specified on the 911 include; Bose sound system with built-in sub-woofer, multi-function steering wheel, Sports Chrono Plus package, Park Distance Control, automatically dimming interior and door mirrors, sports hard-backed seats with shoulder supports, tyre pressure monitoring system, retractable electric sunroof, stainless “Carrera 4S” door entry guards, short gear shifter, “switchable” sports exhaust system. The optional extra codes read as follows: XCZ, XLF, XX1, X70, 026, 267, 268, 342, 377, 378, 431, 482, 538, 567, 09991.

+- MECHANICS / DRIVE

This 997 is a truly special example, found in a special condition, treated to a money-no-object approach by its 3 previous owners when it comes to its mechanical upkeep. All of the areas that are prone to requiring work on a 997 at this age have been duly attended to (detailed further in the below Service History section). The 3.8 litre flat six mounted at the rear springs into life, idles smoothly, revs cleanly, has blistering performance on the road, accompanied by a glorious sound-track produced by the “switchable” Porsche Sports Exhaust system. The infamous IMS bearing is of the later, strengthened variant, as confirmed by the engine number. The admired 6-speed manual transmission passes through all gears seamlessly and has assistance from a light clutch pedal, having been renewed 3,000 miles / 18 months ago. Also boasting the Sports Chrono Plus package, the 4S is joyous to behold in the corners, with its suspension and throttle response sharpened at the touch of a button. A list of suspension components have been renewed, so the Porsche is fresh, tight and capable when being driven in a spirited fashion. The large brakes that the 4S is the beneficiary to stop the car confidently and the front brake pads are being renewed with us in preparation for sale. Pirelli P Zero tyres are at all four corners, with minimal wear.

+- SERVICE HISTORY / PREP WORK

The service history is uncompromised, with all scheduled intervals completed and all works carried out at Porsche main dealer or independent specialist. The original owners leather wallet contains all of the original manuals and there’s a folder of paperwork, such as invoices for works completed, MOT certificates, and various other miscellaneous documents. The service intervals evidenced by the maintenance booklet detail as follows:
