+- INTRO / EXTERIOR

Porsche 997 Carrera 4S, in the desirable manual, coupe guise, with an extensive list of optional extras, and a very recent full engine rebuild. The coach work is in outstanding condition, with straight body panels, free from any car park dings or marks to detract from the 4S’ wide body. The Basalt Black (colour code LC9Z) paintwork is equally as good, with a deep metallic shine, benefitting from our customary day’s worth of FGP detailing. If being highly critical, there are some minor stone chips to the front bumper. The optional 19″ “Turbo” alloy wheels have some minor marks, but overall present well.

+- INTERIOR / SPEC

The black leather interior makes for a nice place to be, boasting from tasteful optional equipment, and benefitting from careful use by its previous owners. The leather is in supple condition, with no damage or noteworthy wear, the carpets are clean and areas that see most use, such as the steering wheel and gear stick, present nicely. Optional extras specified from new include the sought after sports hard backed seats, Bose sound system with build in sub woofer, steering wheel controls, cruise control, and the aforementioned Turbo diamond cut alloy wheels.

+- MECHANICS / DRIVE

Notably, the rear mounted 3.8 litre flat 6 has benefitted from a full rebuild on 23/10/2019 at 71,656 miles, with independent Porsche specialists “Strasse”. This included six new cylinder liners, in addition to the routine full engine rebuild works. The engine is also of the later, stronger configuration of the IMS bearing, as confirmed by the build number. During the rebuild work, the clutch was also replaced, meaning the pedal is light with a positive bite. The six speed gearbox travels smoothly through the gears, and the large 4S brakes stop the car well, having had the front discs and pads renewed as part of our preparation process. During this process, the front suspension top mounts, front top mounts, front bump stops, and rear lower control arms have also all been renewed, as well as a four-wheel alignment carried out, resulting in a tight and well poised Porsche 911.
