+- INTRO / EXTERIOR

Friends Green Porsche present for sale the latest example of the first generation 997 we’ve had the privilege of selling. Registered in October of 2008, the Porsche is finished in Meteor Grey (colour code M7W), as opposed to the more regular, lighter Seal Grey, which was a colour introduced in 2008, meaning there are very few first generation 997s in this colour. Being a late example, the IMS bearing is also the later, stronger variant. The coachwork itself is in excellent order, with pin straight panels and no car park dings or damage. The paintwork is in equally fabulous condition, benefitting from our customary detailing process, eliminating any swirl marks of blemishes and offering protection for the foreseeable. There are few stone chips to the nose of the car and the headlights are clean and clear. The Carrera is specified with the Porsche sports exhaust, which includes twin exit tail pipe tips, offering a more sporty looking rear end. The original 5 spoke Carrera alloy wheels are in unmarked condition, having undergone recent refurbishment. As a non-sun roof car, the roofline is uncluttered and sleeker looking.

+- INTERIOR / SPEC

Within the cockpit lays a timeless black leather interior, completing a classy colour combination on a 911, complimenting the grey exterior. The condition of the interior is outstanding and a credit to the Porsche’s previous custodian. The front leather seats are beautifully supple, with no cracking or noteworthy wear whatsoever. Other frequent contact points, such as the steering wheel and handbrake, are also unworn. The dashboard, door-cards and headlining etc all present beautifully. The electrically operated functions all work as they should, including the ice cool air conditioning. The “Carrera” variants are usually modestly specced, but this example is an exception, with a lavish list of optional equipment including, park distance control, cruise control, Litronic xenon headlights, headlamp washers, multi-function steering wheel, 8-way electric seats, front seat heating, Bose sound package, stainless steel door entry guards, Porsche sports exhaust system. There are two remote key fobs present.

+- MECHANICS / DRIVE

The mechanical workings of this 911 are on a par with its aesthetic condition. The 3.6 litre flat six mounted over the rear axle operates and performs just as Porsche intended, with a crisp start-up, smooth idle and impressive performance. Optioned from factory with the Porsche sports exhaust, the note and volume of the engine can be quietened and increased at the touch of a button. As noted earlier, the IMS bearing of this engine is the later, stronger variant that doesn’t suffer from failure. The traditional six speed manual gearbox goes through its gears seamlessly and the clutch has a light pedal and a positive biting point, having been renewed, along with the dual mass flywheel and rear main oil seal just 17,000 miles ago. A number of suspension components have been refreshed as part of our sales preparation process (detailed below), so as such, the steering is sharp and precise. The brakes have lots of life all round and produce excellent stopping power. Michelin Pilot Sport tyres are fitted to all four corners with XXmm of tread to the front and XXmm to the rear.

+- SERVICE HISTORY / PREP WORK
