+- INTRO / EXTERIOR

Available for sale is this beautifully kept Porsche 997 Carrera, which is of the sought after manual, coupe guise and notable, has had over £10,000 of maintenance works completed to it within the last 5 years / 15,000 miles (detailed below). The 911’s exterior is in fantastic order, with its coachwork straight and free from any dings or marks compromising its iconic curvature. The Midnight Blue (colour code L39C) paintwork looks equally well, with minimal stone chips to the nose and benefitting from the FGP Comprehensive Detailing Package, offering a swirl-free, glossy finish and protection for the foreseeable. As this example is without a sun-roof, the roof-line is uncluttered and sleek-looking. From factory the 997 was specified with the Porsche “switchable” Sports Exhaust, meaning it boasts the twin oval tail pipe tips, which are in wonderful condition with a clean stainless steel finish. From new, the 997 also boasts “Lobster Claw” 19″ Carrera S alloy wheels, which present beautifully, having been refurbished within the last 12 months, but with one alloy suffering a small curb graze.

+- INTERIOR / SPEC

Stone grey compliments the Midnight Blue exterior well and makes for a classy colour combination. The interior has stood the test of time brilliantly, with its overall condition making it hard to believe it’s 16 years old. The leather to the seats is supple and fresh, with even the driver’s side bolstering showing no cracking or wear. Touch points such as the steering wheel and handbrake lever are clean and free from discolouring. All electrical functions work as intended, inclusive of the air conditioning system, recently benefitting from 2x new condensers and a system re-gas. 2x operational remote key fobs are with the car. Choice optional equipment was specified with this example, including; electric adjustable seats, alcantara headlining, xenon headights, headlight washers, 19″ Carrera S alloy wheels, Sports Chrono Plus package, Bose sound package, Sports Exhaust System. The optional extra codes read as follows: XLF, 025, 234, 288, 403, 425, 437, 438, 446, 475, 538, 567, 601, 610.

+- MECHANICS / DRIVE

As touched upon above, in the last 5 years / 15,000 miles, the Porsche had been the beneficiary to over £10,000-worth of maintenance work, addressing all of the maintenance areas required on a 997 now they’re of this age (detailed fully in the below Service History section). The infamous IMS is of the later, strengthened configuration and thus is thankfully not of concern with this example The flat six boxer engine is in fine health with a spritely start-up thanks to the new starter motor and “Y” cable fitted, a smooth idle and fantastic noise emitted by the factory fitted Porsche “switchable” Sports Exhaust system. 3 years / 13,000 miles ago, the clutch was renewed, so the operation is light with a positive bite. The well regarded 6-speed manual gearbox passes through its gears seamlessly. Enormous grip and traction is provided by the new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres and the handling ability is second-to-none, having just undergone a full suspension overhaul with us. The brakes are sharp and have lots of life remaining to the discs and pads.
