Porsche 911 997 Carrera manual, registered on 22/02/2007, 72,523 miles, MOT 15/12/2022, full service history, 5 previous owners, HPI clear.

A 997 Carrera, in the appreciated manual, coupe guise and with some choice optional extras. Arctic Silver (colour code L92U) suits a 997 beautifully, contrasting with the darker windows and arch liners, demonstrating the classic 911 curvature of the 911 beautifully. The coachwork itself is untainted, straight along all panels and without any previous repairs. The paintwork presents superbly, with no scratches and minimal stone chips, also benefitting from our customary FGP day’s worth of detailing. The optional 19″ “Sport Design” wheels, usually reserved for the “S” models, are in excellent order, with no curb markings present. The Porsche has been lowered by a modest 20mm, which presents a slightly more sporty stance, without compromising the ability to tackle speed bumps.

The Stone Grey leather interior makes for a nice place to be, boasting a rich array of optional equipment. The leather throughout has benefitted from careful use by its previous owners, evidenced by the lack of wear to even the most used areas, such as driver’s side bolstering. The carpets are beautifully clean, the door cards and dash board are undamaged and everything electrical works as it should, including the air conditioning system. The steering wheel, hand brake and gear stick are in as-new condition, having just been professionally refurbished, and the often-worn lower and upper centre consoles have been removed and “hydro-dipped” in carbon fibre. It is uncommon for a “base” Carrera to be specified with a list of optional equipment, but this example boasts heated front seats, memory front seat positioning, Bose sound system, and PASM suspension. The PCM3 unit has been replaced with an up to date Pioneer unit with Apple Car Play and blue tooth connectivity. There are two remote key fobs and the option codes are as follows: C16, 234, 288, 342, 407, 425, 437, 438, 446, 475, 538, 567, 601, 610, 635.

The iconic rear mounted flat six is in fine fettle, springing in to life as it should, idling smoothly and offering fantastic performance on the road, with a sound track to match. Being a later generation 1 car, the engine is of the later, stronger IMS bearing and shaft variant, and is therefore not an area for concern. The manual transmission passes through its six gears smoothy and the clutch is light with a positive biting point. A comprehensive suspension refresh has been carried out in the last 4 years / 8,000 miles (detailed below), and as such, the 911 is utterly tight and handles superbly. The brakes provide powerful stopping power and the discs and pads are nearly-new in all four corners. Pirelli P Zero tyres are fitted to all four corners, with 5.5mm of tread to the rear and 7mm to the front. As part of our sales preparation process, the oh-so common troublesome coolant pipes have been attended to (detailed below), giving peace of mind to the 911’s next custodian.

A comprehensive servicing record accompanies the 997. Present is an impressive hard-backed folder, filled to the brim with paperwork such as works completed, previous sales invoices, and MOT certificates. The original Porsche leather owners wallet contains all the original owners manuals and the maintenance booklet, which evidences 11 intervals completed, as follows:
