+- INTRO / EXTERIOR

Here we have a beautiful, low mileage and desirably specced 997, benefitting from a recent full engine rebuild. The Porsche has untainted coachwork and Basalt Black (colour code LC9Z) paintwork that possesses a fantastic, glossy, metallic shine. There are minimal blemishes, limited to few very minor stone chips to the front bumper. The Porsche has also benefitted from our usual day’s worth of detailing to exhibit and protect its superb physical condition. Beneath lay the genuine Porsche “Sport Design” alloy wheels, which are in flawless condition, having been refurbished while in with us.

+- INTERIOR / SPEC

The cabin is filled with a matching black leather interior, which is in lovely order, showing little wear, even to the most heavily used areas, such as the driver’s side bolstering and steering wheel. Every electrical function operates as it did when new, including the ice-cool air conditioning. The 997 has some stand-out optional extras, inclusive of the sought after sports hard-back seats with shoulder supports, steering wheel controls, cruise control, Porsche crested hear rests, stainless “Carrera S” entry guards, Bose sound system with built in subwoofer. Phone connectivity has been added, using the car’s CD multi-changer input, meaning the originality of the PCM unit has been retained. This displays an error on the PCM screen upon selection of this feature, but is removed once selected. In preparation for sale, we have renewed the commonly worn climate unit switches. There are two remote key fobs present. The option codes list as follows: C16, XLF, XSC, X70, 342, 377, 378, 405, 431, 446, 454, 538, 567, 610, 635, 09991.

+- MECHANICS / DRIVE

Mechanically the 997 is in wonderful condition and as touched upon above, the 3.8 litre flat 6 has been subject to a full engine rebuild, including replacement of the cylinder liners, carried out on 27/04/2018 at 47,515 miles, for the cost of £10,228. The engine number also confirms that this 997 has the later, strengthened variant of the IMS shaft and bearing, so there are no worries to be had with regard to this subject. The six speed manual gearbox provides a rifle-like gear change, and is accompanied by a clutch that has a positive bite. The large “S” brakes have been renewed in all four corners as part of our sales preparation process, and as such, possess fantastic stopping ability. The handling ability of a 911 is iconic, and this example lives up to expectations, with drum-tight suspension and highly responsive steering. As part of our sales preparation, we have renewed all four tyres for Michelin Pilot Sports, and carried out a four-wheel alignment, meaning the Porsche has phenomenal grip, and is aligned as it should be.
