WALK-AROUND-VIDEO

+- INTRO / EXTERIOR

A wonderfully presented example of the increasingly desirable Porsche 997, with notably, a recent engine rebuild by Porsche engine rebuild specialists, “Hartech”. The Basalt Black (colour code LC9Z) bodywork of the 911 is in fine shape and, to rectify stone chips, has just benefitted from having its front bumper, bonnet and wings resprayed in preparation for sale. The 19″ Sport Design alloy wheels present immaculately, having been refurbished in their original silver as further part of our sales preparation process. Our customary Comprehensive Detailing Package has been completed, exhibiting the car’s exterior in its best light and protecting it for the foreseeable. Being a non-sun roof model, the roof line is clean and uncluttered-looking. The headlight faces are clean and clear and the twin oval “S” tail pipe tips have clean chrome.

+- INTERIOR / SPEC

A timeless black leather interiors awaits inside the cabin, which has stood the test of time fabulously. Wear points, such as the steering wheels, gear knob and handbrake lever have very little wear, the leather to the seats is supple and free from cracking and other areas such as the carpets, headlining and dashboard are brilliantly clean. All of the electrical functions operate correctly, inclusive of the air conditioning system, which has recently had its condensers renewed. Optional equipment specified with the 997 includes electric seats with memory function, Porsche crested head rests, Bose sound system, cruise control, Sports Chrono Plus Package, Porsche Sports (switchable) exhaust, Park Distance Control. There are two operational remote key fobs with the Porsche.

+- MECHANICS / DRIVE

Mechanically, the Porsche is in superb order. As touched upon earlier, the 3.8 litre rear mounted flat six underwent a 6 cylinder rebuild just 5,000 miles ago by Porsche engine rebuild specialists “Hartech”, for the cost of £13,000. The much admired 6-speed manual gearbox is seamless between gears and the clutch pedal is light with a positive bite. The brake discs and pads have lots of life at all four corners and stop the car confidently, with the Carrera S benefitting from the larger units. Four nearly-new Michelin Pilot Sport tyres provide fantastic grip and traction. The handling of the Porsche is well poised, with suspension that’s in fine fettle, having had a number of components renewed in recent times.

+- SERVICE HISTORY / PREP WORK

A comprehensive servicing record compliments the Porsche, including the fully stamped maintenance booklet, the original leather owners wallet containing all of the original manuals, and a folder filled to the brim with paperwork relating to the car’s history. The service intervals have been exclusively carried out by the Porsche main dealer or Porsche independent specialists and list as follows:

14/06/2007 – 8,507 miles, 09/04/2009 – 23,554 miles, 11/04/2011 – 44,186 miles, 15/04/2013 – 61,077 miles, 13/03/2015 – 65,243 miles, 01/06/2018 – 68,185 miles, 22/10/2021 – 69,343 miles, 26/07/2023 – 70,315 miles.

As noted above, the Porsche has just been service with us in preparation for sale. This was a “major” interval, including spark plugs and a brake fluid change. In addition, our customary FGP Comprehensive Inspection & Report will be completed, with any subsequent highlighted advisory work attended to prior to sale. Recent works completed also include: Renew 2x air conditioning condensers and a system re-gas, renew alternator, renew 2x front suspension top mounts and top bearings, renew 2x rear suspension lower control arms, four-wheel alignment, renew battery, renew climate control unit switches, renew window switch, renew 4x tyres for Michelin Pilots Sport 4S, renew front cross over coolant pipes, renew rear over-engine coolant pipes, renew coolant expansion tank, renew water pump, renew three-piece clutch kit, renew flywheel, 6-cylinder engine rebuild.
