WALK-AROUND-VIDEO

+- INTRO / EXTERIOR

Offered for sale by Friends Green Porsche, is this incredibly eye-catching example of the Porsche 997 Carrera S. Cobalt Blue is a pretty colour and presents the curved 911 body shape beautifully. The coachwork is superb, with untainted, straight body panels, free from any car park dings or marks. The paintwork is equally good, benefitting from our customary FGP detailing process, and as such, demonstrating a deep, glossy finish, free from swirl marks. The headlights are clear and fresh-looking, and the chrome of the S tail pipe tips is mirror-like. The optional 19″ Sport Design wheels, which have recently been refurbished in gloss black, accentuate the Guards Red large S brake callipers, and contrast with the lighter body-colour. As a non-sun roof model, the roof line is sleek and uncluttered.

+- INTERIOR / SPEC

The Sea Blue colour of the interior ties in wonderfully with the Cobalt Blue exterior and makes for a classy combination. The condition throughout is fabulous and could pass for a car of half the 997’s years. The optional sports hard back seats have clean, supple leather, and unworn bolstering. The touch points, such as steering wheel, gear stick and handbrake are clean, with very little wear, and other areas such as the carpets, dashboard and door-cards are immaculate. (Please note, the 997.2 steering wheel photographed will be removed and the original 997.1 wheel reinstalled). All the electric functions operate as they should, including the ice-cool air conditioning system. A Kenwood headunit is fitted, offering the latest features, such as phone connectivity and DAB radio. The Carrera S is awash with optional equipment, inclusive of the aforementioned sports hard back seats, Tequipment aluminum gear knob, Porsche Sports Exhaust (PSE), Park Distance Control, automatic dimming interior and wing mirrors, rain sensor operated wipers, multi-function steering wheel, Bose sound system. The car also of course has the usual S refinements, such as silver backed instrument dials, alcantara suede headlining and xenon litronic headlights. There are two remove key fobs with the Porsche. The option codes read as follows: XLF, X97, 267, 268, 342, 377, 378, 407, 431, 446, 538, 567, 610, 635.

+- MECHANICS / DRIVE

The iconic rear mounted boxer engine is in fine fettle, springing in to life as it should, having just had its starter motor and “Y” cable renewed during our sales preparation process, idling smoothly, and offering fantastic performance on the road. This example boasts the factory fitted PSE (Porsche Sports Exhaust), meaning that at the click of a button, the exhaust note transforms from understated to a sporty-sounding flat six bark. Being a later generation 1 car, the engine is of the later, stronger IMS bearing and shaft variant, and is therefore not an area for concern. The manual transmission passes through its six gears smoothy and the clutch is with a positive engagement and biting point. The 911 is utterly tight and handles superbly, having undergone a front suspension overhaul and subsequent four-wheel alignment as part of our sales preparation process (detailed below). The large brakes equipped with the Carrera S variant are in good shape and provide powerful stopping power. Michelin Pilot Sport tyres are fitted to all four corners, with 4.5mm of tread to the front and 6.0mm to the rear.

+- SERVICE HISTORY / PREP WORK

The service history record is comprehensive, made up of a folder filled with paperwork relating to the car, such as maintenance invoices, MOT certificates, HPI reports, and other miscellaneous documents, as well as the original Porsche leather wallet, containing the owners manuals and the maintenance booklet, evidencing 9 service intervals completed, all by Porsche main dealer or independent specialists, which are as follows:
